Dear Esther immerses you in a stunningly realised world, a remote and desolate island somewhere in the outer Hebrides. As you step forwards, a voice begins to read fragments of a letter: 'Dear Esther...' - and so begins a journey through one of the most original first-person games of recent years.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 22 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

What a depressing empty game that I have played. A must try.
Firewatch, What Remains of Edith Finch, The Stanley Parable и Everybodys Gone to the Rapture.

It's one of the first Walking Simulators made and I highly recommend putting it into your collection if your a fan of Walking Simulators! 10/10
as someone who really enjoys games that contemplate nature I can really tell that it is a nice one, also because of the story narrated through the letter.
so slow
Who Will Remember Donnelly?
Dear Esther is a fantastic walking sim. I want to urge you, that if you do not like slow narrative drive games, where you do not shoot, drive, or interact with things, then this is perfect! It is not a bad game by any means, but it is true to the name "Walking Simulator." You will walk through various places, hear detailed descriptions of stories and interpretations of the narrator's mind. This game is all about interpretating the monologue of the main character. It leaves the story open ended for a good reason. Overall, I do recommend to check this game out, because you come out on the other side having a deeper connection to yourself and a story.
Nice chilled game
Note perso: (9,5/10)
