Mai is not available for purchase anymore so you will not be able to access the complete character roster. It is a waste of time.

Just buy this game instead of Dead or Alive 6: Last Round. More content, takes way less space and overall the better game. The fact that DOA 6 doesn't have Tag Mode but DOA: Dimensions does (a 3DS game!), is insane.
Solid mechanics and fun fighting gameplay, but the port optimization on PC leaves a lot to be desired. Fortunately, you don't even need to buy the full package, the free Core Fighters version is good enough to get your fix with a couple of characters and online play. Grab that instead unless you desperately want the whole roster.
I love the series - and you do not have to spend a dime to simply play. But scroll down and and let this sink in: Add all DLC: 1035,38€´ Is this something you wish to shove any money towards to? I don´t. Doesn´t matter how good or bad the game is.
The last true DOA game.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is by far the best Dead or Alive game of the modern era (post-Dead or Alive 4).
Not a complete edition. It's missing 2 characters and plenty of dlc costumes that cost a small fortune. It's way better than Doa6 last round thought, that one is a complete scam.
DOA5LR was, and continues to be, the best Dead or Alive game released. Yes, the ridiculous DLC prices were a major negative, but everything else about it is the best DOA game ever made. The biggest character roster in a DOA game. The most outfits ever included in a DOA game. And the most sex appeal that was ever put into a non-DOAX game. DOA is quite possibly the perfect blend of fighting games. Multi-level, 3D stages, with each level being it's own little stage within a stage, and each one having its own environmental hazards. DOA also features various real-world fighting styles that you can play with. Wrestling? You have Tina and Bass. Luchador? You have La Mariposa. JKD? You have Jann Lee for all your Bruce Lee needs. You also have the fighting system itself. It's simple to pick up. It only has punches and kicks (strikes), throws, and holds. And they form a triangle systems where strikes beat throws, throws beat holds, and holds beat strikes. It is simple to learn, but can be as complex as you want/need it to be. Respect it, and it will respect you. And then, you have the greatest feature the game has to offer. It's sex appeal. And hoo boy, it's divine. Skimpy outfits and jiggle physics for days. Whether you like Kasumi, Ayane, Tina, Helena, Marie Rose, or someone else, they will most likely have an outfit that will satisfy your wildest desires. So, as a recap: This game is superior to DOA6LR in every way. It's DLC is half the price of DOA6, the file size is only 10 GB compared to to DOA6LR's 80 GB, has more interesting stages than DOA6, has more characters than DOA6, and has comparable, if not superior fanservice to DOA6. Plus you have Tag mode and Team Battles in DOA5. DOA6LR still doesn't have these features. So go knock yourself out (or someone else preferably. It's a fighting game after all...)
