Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 4 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Dead ink is a top-down soulslike set inside a single hand-crafted vertical world. You awaken at the summit of a hostile brutalist tower. To escape, you must find a way down. Explore a dense, nonlinear structure of shortcuts, locked routes, hidden drops and dangerous ledges. The tower is not a backdrop: understanding its shape is at the heart of the game.
Enemies yield ink. Printers turn it into your body, weapons and equipment, and form a network of checkpoints throughout the tower. Spend heavily on a powerful loadout, preserve your ink for future attempts, or risk transporting it to another printer.
Every death has a material cost. Die too often or spend too freely and your ink supply can run dry, ending the run.
Deliberate melee combat with blocking, parrying, rolling, and plunge attacks.
A nonlinear entirely hand-crafted tower.
Multiple weapons, enemies, and bosses.
Hidden routes, shortcuts, and blueprint upgrades.
Full controller support.

Top-down Souls-like in a tower. Is it a good game? Definitely. Is it for everyone? Definitely not. There's certainly something magical here though; the breath-taking vistas remind me of grand castle and open environments of ICO for some reason, the ambient soundtrack is minimalist but powerful, the verticality is enough to tickle anyone's (metaphorical?) nutsack, and the combat challenging but rewarding and there's enough here to keep it interesting. It's a fun, smaller game that does something that's never been done before and that in and of itself puts it above a lot projects of similar magnitudes. Not for everyone, but if you're up for this sort of thing you won't be disappointed.
Got for 8 bucks. Nice game. Wish the camera was more maneuverable, like slanting, angling, and zooming out. Those cannon enemies that don't respawn should have been used more later on. You need the ink to get upgrades, but you get the paired ingots so late that you already have your stuff mostly upgraded. If those cannon guys existed more, you could try upgrading different weapons like the halberd, but I just stuck with the twin blades. The main puzzle of the game with the alpha beta keys was nice, but I wish there was more stuff like that. I thought it was a secret because who is going to haul those keys all the way over there, but it's the main escape. Game ended too soon

Sadly I can't recommend this game. It is a very short, samey and clunky for its price! The game does indeed have some charm, and a reasonable degree of enemy diversity for its short length, though. However, you've essentially seen everything the game has to offer after an hour -- sure there's more, but nothing feels different or fresh. The entire game takes place in one 'biome' that can feel confusing as each area does not differentiate itself well. This would not be an issue, but the birds-eye view makes navigating more of a chore than joy. Especially since some parts the game relies on you jumping down to a platform, but the camera angle leaves you thinking you'll land on a tile, when in actuality you're one short and you will plunge to your doom. The systems are clunky as well. You earn souls (known as ink in this game) from foes, but to level up you have to get to a specific part of the tower, then convert your ink to an item you have to unlock the blueprint for. Furthermore, the game "features" a permadeath element -- every 'bonfire' has its own ink tied to it. So if you wish to fast travel, you must leave all your ink where you fast travelled from. Each load out withholds X ink based on what you equip, the minimum being 50. This means you could end up in a situation that you cannot respawn, as you have too little ink remaining, hence the permadeath element. This also means that you have to end your ink farming at the upgrade area if you wish to grind out levels, since you cannot fast travel with your ink.
This game is too niche, so I couldn't find any text or video walkthroughs at all. Within three hours, I've already reached both the top and the bottom of the tower and located the Alpha Key, but I have no idea how to bring this key back up to unlock the door. This is incredibly frustrating. If the developer sees my comment, please leave me some hints! My goodness, so wonderful! I'm saved — thank you for the hint!
