Thanks devs to revive a classic. And make my account more valuable!
It's got the look down and music fits pretty well. The arcade feels is pretty good too. It also gets some bonus points from me cuz there's a castle in the background in one of the stages. The physics could do with some work, the amount of understeer on certain terrains is awful. The rocks in the 2nd stage can eat a bag of ♥♥♥♥♥. The stages could use some more character as well imo, outside a few landmarks like the castle they feel kinda generic. But, it's super EA as of this review, and final product could change that completely and they could ooze character by 1.0. I've finished the championship with 3 of the cars. With time and polish the game could be great, but for right now maybe wait for some updates as it's pretty bare bones ATM. If you are really down bad for a SR like game give it a try to support. If you are looking for a game that feels like a rally game, this probably ain't it for you (yet, this could change over time). I'm glad the game exists tho, and am hopeful for now. Gonna let the game cook for now and come back after some more updates.
Buen juego que recuerda al mítico Sega Rally pero deberían quitar las piedras y arboles en medio de la pista.
DDI Rally Championship is a modern day tribute to the classic Sega Rally series. It get's the job done replicating the classic arcade style driving that is rarely seen in modern racing games today. Complete with 100% wheel support which is awesome! As of this current version, DDIRC has 5 original tracks to choose from: Forest, Desert, Alpine, Mountain, and Lakeside. Some of these tracks feature slippery terrain which forces you to shift your driving style a little bit. There's also mirrored versions of these courses which will soon be available in Championship mode. Out of the box, there's 6 classic rally vehicles with 6 alternate skins which can be unlocked by winning Championship mode. DDIRC will also feature vehicles from other racing franchises in the future. The AI opponents in Championship mode could use some work as they're pretty easy to beat, it seems possible to climb to 1st place before you're even halfway through the track list. While this game has no online multiplayer, Time Trial mode features online leaderboards to record the fastest times for each track, including mirrored. Overall, DDI Rally Championship is an enjoyable experience i would recommend to any arcade enthusiast. 9/10
Really Early development Game defos a working progress, short but would recommend helping the developer because this is a really good Sega Rally arcade clone, I am sure the developer will be fixing the graphics /sound but ok for now....NEed to be male co driver announcer because the female one is annoying as hell especially when you bump into to stuff, she make a annoying noises...(bit like the wife! ) - but you can turn her off in the options, -unlike the wife!.... Anyhow this game has a lot of promise and cant wait for more variety, Speed and control of cars have a nice arcade feel to them...some engine sounds need fixed as they loop a little but sound nice...Well done to them for giving the closest thing to a Sega Rally game for now...WELL DONE DEVS!
Shockingly amateurish for a $12 game. Car handling is miserable (if you have to add sliders for your physics, you've made bad physics), the visuals look extremely cheap, the track design is miserable (most of the tracks are comprised of long straights and tight corners, which feels more like an F1 track than a rally stage), and there isn't a single original bone in this game's body (practically every car, track, and billboard is a shameless ripoff of something else, mainly from older Sega games) - crossing the line from tribute to outright bootleg at times. The most fun I got out of this game was wrecking the AI cars (because this generic physics model allows such crashes, unlike a genuine arcade racer of the era). Also, the game looks significantly worse than the trailer and promo screenshots (mainly in regards to post-processing and lighting), which borders on false advertising. If nothing else, it's a great case study on the sad decline of this genre, from innovative quarter-gobbling masterpieces to shoddy clones of games made by far more talented development teams. Don't buy this.
Edit: Did you change the handling? The handling and drifting feels WAY better than before! Good stuff. After playing for hours (no idea why it says I've only played 12 minutes...), I really like the direction this project is headed. It scratches that Sega Rally itch without feeling like a clone. The old Rally games were very drift heavy, while this game seems to focus more on controlling your speed, and I like that. Gives this game distinction. Overall, a very big thumbs up from me. All that being said... could you please consider lengthening the timer for time trials? I find that one mistake can cost me the whole attempt on the Lakeside stage. P.S. If this game does well enough, I'd love to see your take on Daytona USA or Sega Touring Car Championship.
I've been waiting for a Sega Rally fan game for so long, and this one looks pretty promising so far :3
So far so good. Game's driving model is very neat and fun to drive. It's pure arcade game and has a very good potential. What I'd like to see is more polished tracks and overall graphics, because it feels incosistent - for example first track, the forest, is very pleasing to the eye and properly made, however the second (forgot its name) looks kinda meh, and there are spots where you can lock yourself. But game is in early alpha stage, so I think dev will continue to update it, more so because driving alone is mega fun. good game!
If you like Sega Rally and similar racers you will like this. Plenty to go at here with replay value. Well worth a look for racing fans.
