I've been playing my backlog of games I haven't played yet and this game has been among the more Interesting ones I've played. On the shorter side and not to difficult to %100 for achievements. The speed run achievements were the most annoying to get but the rest are easy enough to get if you are achievement hunting. The setting and creatures are intriguing.
Great game, held back by speedrun achievements.
Game is very short, I like the artistic style. Really reminds me of Tim Burton's movies like Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Beetle Juice, etc. As for the controls it wasn't my favorite. For some reason I could only sprint while pressing the left stick, R2/RT didn't work so holding the L3/LS started to hurt my thumb after a while. Solid game I give it a 7/10.

The game starts off very strong up until the mid point but by the 2 of the last stages it basically dwindling down to "could've been better". DARQ is 2.5D puzzle horror game where you try to escape from your character's nightmare by completing a set of puzzles in a level while once in awhile avoiding monsters that try to hinders you. The horror in the game is pretty basic but definitely fits the tension, there is some cheap scare and 1 in your face jump scare (this one is a fail state that happened in the last puzzle in the train stage). The puzzle difficulties are basic to slightly advance level, the "slightly advance" mostly comes down to getting used to the stage puzzle/gimmick and memorization. My first sentence mentioning "dwindling down" is a bit harsh but 2 of stages in the game did annoy me for my first playthrough; 1. The maze puzzle in the train stage 2. The last level chase scene The first one give me a disorienting feeling while doing it and also not locking the the wheel to let you know that only the bright part is the part you could move. The second one have stupid way of dying that tension just break easily. The control can be a bit awkward especially the one that needs you to spin an electrical line or valve. Overall it's a good game with some tidbits of annoyance for first playthrough.
Just finished this at 1am so plz excuse me if I ramble. This is less so a horror/walking sim game, and more a puzzle game with horror elements. It's very short, but I think its length is appropriate because any more would feel like too much for what it is. The FRP is too high for the content delivered though. The puzzles, for the most part, are really good and make really good use of it's 3D platforming mechanics. Some puzzles get a little too convoluted with how how many variables you have to keep in mind but, even then, it's manageable. There's one puzzle that I won't spoil in the train sequence of the game that turns into a horror set piece that I thought was outstanding: it seems easy at first, until it throws in it's twist that makes its spoopy and hard whilst still being fair. Story wise: there isn't much to say. It's vague. Too vague and I don't really think that the game gives you a good enough reason to care about it. That said, it's inoffensive and a tad intriguing. It's ultimately style over substance. The enemy sequences of the game are the only thing about this game that I think are bad. Most enemies are not just trivial to avoid, but are a boring time sink that just makes you wait until they pass. The final set piece of the game was visually stunning but mechanically was mostly just-press-right. Ultimately, despite this games good puzzles it is ultimately style over substance (but that style is banger). 6/10, if it's on sale I'd say give it a go.
Стильная игрушка. Графика атмосферная, звуки — топ. Головоломки хорошие, некоторые реально удивили. Коротенькая, но насыщенная. Прошёл на одном дыхании. Рекомендую для расслабленного вечера.
Great puzzle game with really new and unique mechanics introduced in every level
Muy bonito y muy bueno, el ambiente tetrico maravilloso. Si te gustan los puzzles y tienes paciencia te divertiras, de lo contrario puede que te resulte tedioso
