About
Darkest Mine is a roguelite action-plateformer featuring some RPG elements and played in 20-minutes-long runs.

Dive down 5 depth levels made of 10 rooms each. You must clear a room entirely before progressing to the next one, until you reach the depth level's boss.

Every 3 rooms, you get a pick from more than 100 different abilities, each one affecting your gamleplay in a specific way.

4 weapons are available, providing 4 completely unique playstyles for your runs.

With the gold nuggets you will collect through your runs, you can purchase permanent upgrades at the blacksmith

Local co-op and Steam Play Together are both available if you want to add a 2nd player to the run.

A game with a fairly classic but highly effective and well-executed roguelite gameplay! Each run feels truly different depending on the weapon and powers you pick up. The visibility mechanic is a great addition to the genre. At first, you think, "Who cares about vision? I just want more damage!" But soon enough, you realize that actually seeing where you're going is pretty useful!
Great little rogue lite ! The controls are smooth and the gameplay is dynamic! The management of the light is challenging (All my deaths is becauce I ended in the dark x) ) A lot of perks and builds, it'll take some time to master them an beat the game :)
My playthrough : https://youtu.be/VLW7Ev7ToBU Overall: 6.5/10 - Decent Graphics: 6.5/10 • Nice, clean, minimal pixel art. • Not enough juice, every attack feels soft and lacks weight. Audio: 5/10 - Average, nothing memorable Gameplay: 6.5/10 • PLEASE make this game keyboard + mouse compatible. It's mandatory and not that hard to implement in a modern game engine. From what I played, it could easily use WASD for movement, Shift/Space to dash, mouse to control the flashlight, and left-click to attack. • The flashlight mechanic feels somewhat useless in my one-hour playtime. I don’t see the need to use it to look ahead when I can constantly refill fuel to keep my light radius big enough for the room. • At first, I didn’t realize I could dash in any direction, I assumed it was only left and right, (That’s on me because I wanted to get through the tutorial as fast as possible and skipped reading.) • When I dash into a wall, I ricochet way too much. Why? • There’s a delay between each attack, but there’s no indicator showing when the next attack is "ready." This results in situations where I jump, press attack, but the attack is still on cooldown, causing me to lose my rhythm. • The ultimate attack feels underwhelming. like, big AoE but deals the same damage, attacking three times, only the spear is somewhat good. • It's annoying to reach monsters stuck in the corners of a room. • The slingshot sucks. Its range doesn’t make up for the snail-like speed and low damage. • The downward attack is pretty good, but I feel like some enemies' horizontal hitboxes are too small. I stand close to them, but my downward attack still doesn’t connect. • There too few weapons and upgrades, by my first hour I had already unlocked most of them. • Some unlocks feel underwhelming, going from 15% to 16% is barely noticeable. A 1% increase is useless. • Each run feels mostly the same. The only time I noticed a difference was when I got the power that doubled my critical damage, which was interesting and actually changed my playstyle.
I discovered this game during the last year's Steam fest and the demo was really cool ! I couldn't wait to get my hands on the full release ! No disappointment here :D The game is excellent, with great replayability and instant fun. I haven't tried co-op yet but it looks like really fun as well! Highly rrecommended
The game is really punchy, it's easy to get into, it's really enjoyable and the interface is clear. Personally, I think it's really cool and I had a lot of fun playing it for the first time. The graphics are simple, but it's easy to play. I love the way the lights are managed, the round lights give it a great feel.
Très bon petit jeu indépendant. Rogue like avec des idées originales comme la gestion de la luminosité. Je recommande
A good game to chill on, controls are easy and the gameplay is smooth. On my first run I reached the Act 1 Boss (I think?), so I guess the game should last for about about 4~5 hours. It gives a strong "Rogue Legacy" feeling, so it's probably a great buy for fans of the genre.
I love the retro look and feel of this game! Nice graphics, nice gameplay, it's simple, effective and a lot of fun. A big, big thumbs up for me, well done to the developer (who, if I'm not mistaken, made the game all by himself). I'd like to see more like this ^^
Foncez !
Pretty cool but I would like see a tiny bit more.
