Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 14 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A me piace molto questo Match 3/RPG.

Thinly veiled mobile skinnerbox transplant with nigh on impossible pay to win choakpoints. Good concept though.
mobile port of a puzzle quest knockoff. a voiced but not subtitled intro starts the game (every single time) with 'hold mouse to skip' on top. good, no tapping, I thought. then the splash screen appeared with 'tap to play', but the mandatory tutorial reverted back to clicking. the game's nothing if not inconsistent. 13 heroes to choose from, just a different avatar and backstory. your character has health, attack and mana, recovered by matching their respective colors. matching and even not matching but selecting a single tile moves the hero on the board as much as you want (there's bread to buy on mobile). fight enemies and bosses and grab chests that open instantly, unlike on mobile. still too much clicking to do, same for rewards, gets tiresome fast. respec is free but reassigning dozens of points by dragging them one by one to the desired location is even worse, though you won't do it all that often. bigger matches create power-ups that remove a bunch of tiles and deal elemental damage. there's a counter and an arrow to indicate how powerful the result will be and which direction(s) it will take care of. nice touch. the town has various places to visit. check enemy info if you already encountered them, manage inventory (can be done while on a level too), research spells, buy stuff, etc. inspected items are compared to equipped ones. the tutorial mentions a speed up option for spells that must be remnant from the mobile version, as it's also instant here. lots of gear to find and use, having 5/10/etc. of the same item lets you upgrade them for cash. identical items stack and inventory space is unlimited but better inventory sorting would've been necessary. now it's a weapon/armor/jewelry/all filter with highest level items on top. typical mobile dev mistake to bind everything to left click, be it holding to inspect an enemy (clicking attacks) or moving the camera around (only as long as you're still on-screen). right click does nothing, meaning the current selection can't be canceled without retracing all the steps. can't zoom in/out with the wheel but the map icon in the corner brings up a bird's-eye view. sadly, can't play that way and with a filter on it it's hard to find whatever you're looking for. the wheel scrolls where it has to but no tooltips, naturally, nor keyboard support. the character sheet is handy but without tooltips there's no way to tell what the 20 (TWENTY!) icons on the top are. some are debuffs, got blinded once but couldn't tell when it would disappear. there are 61 levels, unlocked one at a time, divided into various locations. each place needs a certain amount of stars to unlock but even then levels have to be completed in order. reaching the exit is enough unless it's a boss and it's not the usual 3-star system based on points, but each stage has a bunch of quests, do those to get stars and with them some rewards. quests mention if they have to be done in one go, otherwise feel free to replay the level a few times and get x of something, then leave without finishing the whole thing again. good enough pixel graphics, non-annoying sfx, repetitive music. with timers completely and tapping partially removed, along with other mobile ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and everything full screen and widescreen, it's not the worst port. resolutions and windowed mode got patched in, no volume settings though, only separate toggles for the way too loud audio. a few language options as well. didn't notice many typos and text display is instant and silent. generic and repetitive for sure, just like puzzle quest, but might scratch a certain itch with tempered expectations, just like puzzle quest. there's even pvp multiplayer, unlocks at lvl20, haven't tried it. I was contemplating giving it a thumbs up depending on the rest of the game, but turns out I'll never see it. the end of the first area with constant mob and web spawns already took a while, but the ant queen in the desert with 4 nests spawning enemies every few turns was too much. level 16, only a quarter of the way through. not gonna grind the previous, already mostly perfected and trivial levels for more xp, cash (item upgrades become really pricey fast) and random loot, especially with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tornado reshuffling the board every few turns, removing special tiles, and enemies that take forever to kill for quests or simply to progress on a level.

Darkest Hunters is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. The game is a badly made, badly translated, very basic Match-3 (Bejewelled ripoff), but with some crap RPG elements tacked onto it. This isn't making Match-3 games better, it's making RPGs worse. From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just iPhone screen tapping stuff. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone. These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The mobile app never really caught on with the millions of gamers on Steam, with a very low peak player count close to launch, and then just a handful of players launching this mobile app every couple of days. This is undoubtedly caused by factors such as those raised in this review. It's always helpful with buying decisions to consider how popular and successful the product is, and unfortunately while this did accumulate a few participation trophy reviews, overall, people just aren't using it. Darkest Hunters has the farcical price of around $6 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $6 asking price for this game could get you games like "Borderlands 2", "Assetto Corsa" or "Ark: Survival Evolved". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. There's also thousands of free, superior quality games on Steam.
I would recommend the game, but on sale. It is not great, not terrible, it's fun for an hour or 3, but after that, you really have seen all it has to offer. I found it a tad on the simple side, yet poorly explained at the same time. I got to the level 12 boss before I died for the first time, and I am not a 'good' player, so I would say the difficulty level is on the low side. Every level is basically a rinse and repeat. You can replay levels as often as you like to get more experience, loot, and gold, so if you get stuck, there is always the option to grind your way up a few levels. I did find the gear sets quite underwhelming. Gear is about as bland as an unsalted cracker. There is basically one set of gear. It will just have the grey colored version, then 4 versions with a little bit of a color accent that indicates added damage/resistance to: fire(red)/ice(blue/poison(green)/electric(yellow). Not hugely creative. Leveling of gear is not in the least bit exciting. Simply collect x number of copies of the same piece of gear and combine them for Y amount of gold. That's it. Nothing fun. No new appearance, just number in the corner to indicate level. The font in the game is rather annoying. Each letter looks like it was based on the old 3x5 pixel grids. I found myself just clicking past the character dialogue and messages just because I didn't enjoy staring at the 1970's font. There is no timer, so if you fall asleep, nodding over your keyboard, jump scare yourself awake (rocketing your mouse off the desk in the process) and have to go reassemble the mouse (now where the hell did the battery go?), you won't lose your loot or your progress. Which is a good thing, because the excitement level is low enough that a nod-off is a real possibility. So in summary, yeah, I think it's worth a buck or so. It does hit a point where a ton of grinding will be needed to progress, so if you are a completionist, you've got a fair chunk of time ahead of you. If you are a filthy casual, like myself, it's worth a couple hours before you hit that grind. I think I paid $.59 for it. Less than what a Twix costs, and won't leave a chocolate stain on the mouse pad. Just FYI, there are a couple complaints I have seen in other reviews that I did not seem to have the same issues with, so I'll touch on those as far as what I saw. You might not have the same experience. Since two of them seemed graphics based, it could well be issues with graphics settings, resolution, screen size, etc. I can't remember if there were multiple options when I originally launched this, but I played in windowed mode. Complaint #1 "You can't scroll the board." Yeah, you can. Click and drag the screen. You just can't do it while a gem is selected. To deselect, just backtrack back to your character portrait and release the mouse button. The limitation is you can not scroll your character's board position off the screen, you can only move the map as far as the character icon will go without going off screen. Complaint #2 "You can't see the whole board." Yeah, you can. It is the parchment scroll looking icon in the bottom right corner. It opens up a sepia toned overview of the entire board. It only shows specific tiles that you have already uncovered on the play board, but will show the overall size and shape of the board as well as those revealed tiles. It does not show enemies. Complaint #3 "I couldn't start the next level." There is a star requirement to advance levels. You can complete a non-boss level without earning any stars, by simply jumping in the first door you see, but that seldom grants stars. Just beating the previous level does not necessarily grant you access to the next one. However, the stars earned are cumulative and do not reset. If you missed a star or 2 on the first run, you can go back and just focus on those objectives, you don't have to get a 'perfect run' in one go. 1 star in first run, 3 stars in second run, 2 stars in 3rd run? You can keep them all.
