My initial experience was.... well I could not move from I spawn and I kept getting a little ways into the prologue before weird things would happen like I would fly out of the map or stop being able to move around. I still don't know if it was my computer or not but I reinstalled the game and played it again and things seem to work great with the exception of some objects causing me to walk backwards when I pick them up. If you enjoy sci fi and/or walking simulators you will enjoy this game. It is clear a lot of time and care has gone into production values. The environment is immersive and acting is great. I will be honest, the engine the game is running from does not seem ideal for VR but the game itself is 100% worth the price they are asking. For something that will last you at least as long as a movie rental, this is a worthy purchase. I am running it @208% super sampling on a index and it still is a little bit fuzzy but still really enjoyable. I tried 250% and did not see a difference. Perhaps a headset with a higher native resolution would raise the ceiling a bit.
Dark Threads is a bleak yet perhaps realistic look at humanity's future. It is a short but compelling adventure that will leave you feeling like you want more. I would put this game in the walking sim category with light puzzles that should be easily solvable for most. I would love an expanded Dark Threads 2 with better movement, more interaction, harder puzzles, longer story, more choices and combat. I got it for I think 5.99 on release and it is well worth that price and still worth the normal price of 7.99. There were a few bugs but they were easy to overcome and some places the graphics were considerably worse than others (reflections and distant objects being the most obvious). Overall I really enjoyed my time in the game and I feel like it gets better the farther you get into it, I just wish it had more. It does have at least one alternate ending that I have not experienced so it does have some replay value. Played with reverb G2 and knuckles no problem.

Its alright. Would give it a neutral review if I could. Positive just because I like that the Canadian government is helping fund VR experiences like this. Short (roughly ~1.5 hours) sci-fi experience (aka "walking simulator") with a very overt environmental message. Production values are alright but many of the textures are very low-res. Little interactivity beyond walking slowly and picking things up. It wasn't bad, but I have to say I was slightly underwhelmed at the end. It needed either better production values or a longer, more fleshed out story to be truly memorable.
I liked it and I'm not really a fan of these types of games. Pretty short, could beat the entire thing in over an hour. As someone who doesn't have much VR experience, I'd say it was pretty unique experience. I wasn't too thrilled on the ending though. Supports index knuckles!
only snap turning , not even at same speed then fast then slow No settings to adjust it. Or did i missed those settings to change it? guess i played for about 20 min and was bored. Dont play seated. Stand up to play or u will get a weird lag. playing on 3090 but still had some problems. Not gonna refund it. Game looks nice , just not for me.
• The graphics are average. Some sizes of objects feel off. • The soundtrack is also average, nothing special, but nothing bad. • The game itself is just a walking simulator with looking at items. If you like this or not is your personal preference. Story-wise I think this game could become pretty good, especially if you like some near-future AI stuff, there's even a real actor for storytelling, I don't know his name. But what keeps me from playing at the moment are the controls. They are so f.cking sh.tty. Walking is ultra slow and for some reason you're as double as fast if you strafe sidewards. Also you can not turn smoothly into the direction you're strafing, it just feels horribly clunky and bad. Same for the interaction with objects. Gripping is pretty bad and you often need several trys to grab an object. Very often when I grabbed an object, I glitched around in the room or moved with ultrafast speed, I mean, really, wtf, did nobody experience or care about this when playtesting your game? For the price I will keep the game for a few more days and hope for some patches that REALLY improve the controls. Otherwise I will refund it. Even if a game is cheap, I'm not willing to pay for it as long as fundamental functions like a good or at least OK'ish movement is guaranteed. I don't think that this is so hard to code. I will still give this game a thumbs up for now, to not harm the Developers, because I hope for a patch. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: I checked this game a few months later and literally nothing has changed eventhough the Devs messaged me that they have a patch running which adresses the technical issues. So I guess this was just hot air, compressed to letters here. Fu.ck it. I don't recommend this game, even for its low price.
The Controls are Fine but Picking up Stuff is not good. Youre Movement Controls are all over the Place when you Hold Something in your hand. The Message is cool but also no. Some Objects Particles just destroy your eyes.
I bought this game, because i thought i could play it. The controllers won't work work. Please fix it so it can be played with a mixed reality headset.
Super short but its cheap and its like a really interesting interactive movie. Don't get this thinking this is going to be a standard video game.
