Dark Return

Until they provide settings to turn off motion blur and the head bobbing, I can't recommend this. I don't usually get motion sick, and THIS made me motion sick. Also needs some brightness settings, you can basically see nothing. And not in a spooky way, in a "you cannot navigate this game" way. I'll hang onto the game in hopes that they add some more settings, for now. Also I'm pretty sure the main character voice is a text to speech bot of some kind, it sounds odd, takes away from the game.

Unfortunately, this game was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in the psychological thriller genre. It failed to scare me even once, the sound design was mediocre, and the voice acting was disappointing. The overall result shows that the studio is still quite inexperienced. I hope their next project will show significant improvement in every aspect.

This game has classic horror vibes but fresh enough to keep you guessing. The mix of family secrets, unsettling visuals, and the dread of what you might find behind every door makes it memorable, if a bit slow at the start.

The house is good regardless of the game's atmosphere, but it remains a unique and different game. If you're a fan of horror games filled with puzzles and stories, this game is worth a try.

Tight, eerie, and full of secrets, Dark Return is exactly what I crave in horror.

This game had me pacing. Not even kidding. You step into that abandoned house and immediately it’s like, nope, something is seriously wrong here. The lights barely work, every room tells a different twisted tale, and the deeper you go, the worse it gets. The whole “John returning home” setup sounds basic - but it’s not. It’s layered. There’s tension, mystery, and that slow realization that maybe this dude’s family ain’t just missing… maybe they’ve been hiding something for years. The atmosphere’s crazy thick, the soundtrack creeps under your skin, and the puzzles don’t hold your hand, you actually gotta look. It feels like classic horror meets personal trauma. And the ending? Left me needing answers. Like, I’m still thinking about what I just played. If you’re into slow-burn horror with real weight behind the story - Dark Return is calling your name.
