About
Dark Matter is a retro-style arcade space shooter inspired by classic games like Asteroids. Players pilot a spacecraft in open space, destroying enemies and hazards while managing momentum, inertia, and positioning.
The focus is on fast reactions, precise control, and survival under constant pressure.
Movement in Dark Matter is driven by physics rather than fixed paths. Thrust, rotation, and momentum all matter, rewarding players who master ship control and spatial awareness.
Combat is immediate and skill-based, with escalating difficulty that challenges reflexes and situational awareness rather than long-term progression systems.
Dark Matter is built around short, intense play sessions and high-score chasing. Each run pushes players to improve efficiency, accuracy, and survivability.
This is a pure arcade experience, designed for replayability rather than narrative or exploration.

Decent little mission based Asteroids clone that deserves more respect
Tried to complete all achievement but stockpile achievement seems to be bugged, because I tried everything and I never get it. Game is meh
If you liked Asteroids then...
Good little shooter, clone of Asteroids, perfect for chilling for a few hours.
Easy, basic and boring.
What a lot of people aren't aware is that this game is actually REALLY old. That's why you see a lot of "bruh dis gaem doeznt support 1920x1080". The game didn't come out in 2015, it came out before Team Fortress 2 was halfway done in development. This game was also present on the WildTangent launcher for those of us old enough to remember what that even is. Back then computers weren't that great, but this game was pretty damn cool for my super low-spec PC. Naturally it can't compete with more modern stuff like Nova Cluster or Beat Hazard, but anyone telling you it's a ripoff hasn't done any research or has ZERO prior background knowledge of this game. TL;DR: Game is older than the "release date", that's when it was added to Steam. VERY old game lacking "modern" specs. Get it for the nostalgia, for those of you that know the old WildTangent games launcher.
I can't even finish this game because it just ended up being repetitive and bland. All the enemies feel the same and the round are either incredibly difficult or incredibly easy. It was a bit fun for the first 10 minutes but when i realized that i had essentially gone through the entire strategy and basics for the game it just became menial work. The other huge problem is that a good portion of the mechanics are useless 90% of the time. Like moving...... which is only efficient when your getting the M capsules or avoiding the occasional boss rush. Or charging..... which does as much damage as its spray fire counterparts. Over all this just was not fun to play at all and i can't really recommend this to anyone.
More like Dull Matter But it works..
Game is boring repetitive and gets to a point where it is damn near impossible to beat the level. A game should be fun not frustrating. I don't recommend wasting your time or money.
Yeah it's just an Asteroids clone. Kinda fun. Make it free.
