About
Introducing “Dark Grim Mariupolis”, a point'n'click adventure game set in a world, combining noir, Greek mythology, magic, mysticism, hopeless entourage of Greco-Roman Age of Decadence and stifling everyday routine. Encourage yourself and step into darkness…
Enter Mariupolis, a dark place accompanied with confusing, strange music of no visible source. You are some sort of a detective, and therefore you need to investigate, but why? That’s the thing you’re going to find out… or, maybe not. Everything depends on you and sudden whims of Pentaculus, a grim god stretching its hands out over the whole city.
Investigate and solve puzzles, while resisting dark and obscure grasp of Mariupolis, where the only things guarding you from its baneful influence are sarcasm and arrogance. And be aware – your hero might actually die.
Steal another’s property to find out the truth.
Solve puzzles and conduct investigations.
Reply in appropriate manner in dialogs to achieve your goals.
Sometimes you’ll have to make a moral choice.
Deceive and hide your true intensions.
Complain about life, work and social order.

Dark Grim Mariupolis creates a point and click adventure branch of it's own with it's interesting theme and dialogue. Aside from the mythology, mysticismm, and pseudo-dystopian society world you can easily found yourself wrapped up in interest as you control the footsteps of Thor in this crime noir adventure. Aside from the two color simple yet elegant art style and intriguing story line this game really excels with excellent sound design. The pattering of the rain combined with the calm yet unsettling smooth background music sets the tone as you are playing a pseudo-detective role. There will be plenty of times this title will have you scratching your head in thought, but that's a good thing. The puzzles on this game come off as complicated but they are solvable by looking in the correct place. You may have to revert back to a book in a previous building. The games puzzles are actually designed very intelligently in some of these texts. If you get stuck in a particular area, there is a clue button in the top corner. The deeper you dive into the lore and texts of the world, the more surrealistic it seems to become. The game also does a great job of letting you know once a section is complete by making particular characters leave. This is helpful if you backtrack into an empty building; because you know your job is done there. Although the puzzles are intelligent they may seem to cryptic at times. The devs are helpful to give feedback so that's a plus. The only other real problems I had with this title aren't major things. The ui navigation took a bit longer than it felt like it should have to get used to. Once you get used to it, it's fine. Sometimes the walking speed was a bit slower that I would have liked (looking at you bar entrance). Lastly I noticed taking a screenshot would seem to soft freeze the game for a moment.
Pros
+Dark and interesting atmosphere +Witty and intelligent dialogue and characters +Cross area puzzles +Original art style with excellent sound design +Helpful community and developers
Cons
-Intelligence in puzzles is almost a bit too cryptic at times -Somewhat confusing ui navigation at first -Walking speed can be slow at times -Taking screenshots will soft freeze the game for a moment This title will take you around three to four hours unguided. Possibly less if you are extremely good at point and click adventure games. The art, sound, characters, and story are original enough for me to warrant a recommendation for this title. You will get something a bit different than most titles with this one, and a low price of five dollars is pretty good for the experience. First 20 mins review: A very strange but interesting point and click game. You play as a a robot detective named Thor . Nice ,pretty cool ,bluesy background music. Game has a noir type look and atmosphere to it. I assume it's made by a russian dev ,at first i thought he seems to have a good command of the English language but after reading this while standing in a bar talking to the barman: "put the fish to my face ,and then i may be able to see the meaning in your phrase." Well ,i'm not so sure :) Maybe it will start to make more sense as i progress. And maybe the dev is English and just has a way with words :) (EDIT: See dev's reply below ,i was wrong) It is possible i need to find a fish or something in some way related ? There's a lot of text to read and locations to visit and characters to meet and talk too. I'm gonna give it a thumbs up for now as it definitely seems interesting and worth playing a bit more to see how it goes. I think i'll leave it for now and try again later ,probably more suited for me to play at night-time. Does seem ok though so-far ,if you're a point and click fan i'd say it's worth a punt . P.S: Don't forget to use your 'DOWN' arrow key to scroll to bottom of text/reply choices (EDDIT: or mouse wheel) P.P.S: I think it might be a good idea to read this old pre-greenlight article about the game: https://adventuregamers.com/news/view/32124 It will give you an idea of what to expect. adventuregamers .com/news/view/32124
Two-tone noir crime adventure. Not for everyone, the puzzles are quite difficult despite the help button. The atmosphere is worthy of the game it is, despite the low budget graphics. Soundtrack that fits well. Personally this game is to be taken with due precautions as you may need a guide to finish it. Taking screenshots causes a slowdown in the game. Personal rating 7/10 recommended but be careful.
A surrealist point and click adventure from which you can smell the terrific stench of Russian prose emanating five miles away.
Ukraine-Noir-Robot-Viking-Game It's Dark. It's Grim. It's Mariupolis.

have you ever played a fever dream? the game is obtuse and weird but there's something... incredible about the whole atmosphere. its not necessarily a good game, but it was certainly a very interesting experience.
