Much better than most games in the genre. Great visuals and more interactivity than usual in HOGs, even if it doesn't actually have any effect on anything. There are different types of hidden object scenes and lots of variation in puzzles, although they do tend toward the easy side. The story is... well, HOGs are the B-movies of games anyway, but the story is good enough. I just really hate this game's presumptious language settings. Even though it looks like you can change the language in the Steam properties tab, it does nothing. The game automatically sets the language based on your system language, and in fact, that's how it determines which language file to download in the first place, meaning you can't even go into the game files and force a particular language. It's ridiculous that I had to change my system language just to play this game in the language I wanted, when it's literally SO EASY to just let players choose their language in the Steam properties tab. Because of all this, I started the game with a strong negative bias, but somehow it ended up being well above average for the genre.
the damn menu and inventory is so close to each other and i cant play the game becouse when i click on items on inventory i click the damn menu button all the time,so frustradet ove this,so im refunding it,sadly
I normally don't play these games for plot, but this one was pretty good. And that song is so catchy! Many of the puzzles weren't the type I commonly see either, so that was refreshing! And some were really quite challenging and satisfying. :) The only thing I would say is that sometimes they aren't very clear with what they want you to 'make' sometimes. Like a 'crossbow' is not a regular crossbow and it seems they expect you to intuitively know this lol. Otherwise, definitely in my favourites list. ^-^
You can't pay me to play this game again. Braindead garbage
A really fun game, and a really fun story! I wish there were more of these games that took place in the same world as this one. I had fun time from start to finish! :D
Bought it on sale and despite two rage inducing puzzles, the music and plot kept me going til the end.
Alawar is among the best developers in the HOG genre of games. After a tiring day at work it is relaxing to spend even 20 minutes playing this game. I recommend this game. Enjoy!

The story, HO, puzzles and mechanics all worked well and were a good balance. I initially bought this one as part of one of the HOG bundles, but it didn't have achievements, so I ended up waiting for this one to go on a very good sale and purchased it standalone. Totally worth replaying (after a little time has passed) I wish it had a sequel or a line of HOG like others do like Secret Order or the Grim Tales. The game was very well designed to the point that it could have made a series., Wholly recommend it. Hope you enjoy!
nonsense story but fun time
Was a Really fun game in the beginning, but it seemed to get a tad 'off the rails' in the last part when you enter the courtyard and have to help the Priest. (Basically, once you cross the bridge guarded by the knight) Making the potion on the table was "sloppy programming". And there were other things that became 'far fetched'. Also: That 'chess sort of game' kept locking up and I couldn't play it (would have to keep exiting the game, come back in, rinse and repeat). But, that said, they DO have a built in 'hint' system, and the game was only a few bucks, so.... I won't be remembered as 'one of the greats', but it's a fun little game to pass a few hours.
