Daikaiju Daikessen: Versus is a free to play arcade-style brawler inspired by the likes of classic Neo Geo’s King of the Monsters. The game will be regularly updated with new characters from various indie creators, along with new stages and game modes.

There are two problems which lead me to give this game a negative review. The first is that the game is extremely rough and unpolished. The controls are not intuitive at all. The developer of the game went for quantity of the monsters instead of quality and it shows with how useless some of the monsters feel. Your enjoyment of the game is going to depend on if you get lucky and pick the correct monster. The second problem (and the main reason I am giving this free game a negative review) is that this game is likely never going to be finished. The developer has stopped updating the game and has been silent for over a year.

What can I say that hasn't been said by others? The idea is good but the lack luster designs and the terrible controls make this game unplayable, even for free to play. The inconsistency in hit boxes and single direction attacks in a multi-directional map makes hitting enemies very difficult. There is no intuitive way of navigating the map. The segmented fighting areas with the ability of a character being stuck in the corner makes the experience suffocating. I honestly hope that these points are taken into consideration and another game is made that just works better. I can see a lot of potential here.
Daikaiju Daikessen: Versus, klasik Neo Geo'nun Canavarların Kralı gibi oyunlardan ilham alan, oynaması ücretsiz, atari tarzı bir dövüş oyunudur. Oyun, çeşitli bağımsız yaratıcıların yeni karakterlerinin yanı sıra yeni aşamalar ve oyun modlarıyla düzenli olarak güncellenecektir. Godzilla geliyahhhh
The learning/playability curve is a wall. The game goes almost immediately from zero to beating-your-butt-with-multiple-opponents-far-more-powerful-than-you.
"Daikaiju Daikessen: Versus" is a godawfully bad 2D fighter versus game with craptastic pixelcrap "art" being used instead of real graphics, whether this is because the developer doesn't know how to do video game graphics properly or lacked enough money to hire someone who does isn't relevant, this just looks bad. I can't believe it's not Flash... but it is the next worst thing, this was slapped together with Cocos2D, a particular garbage game engine that should never be used by anyone. But hey, it's 1% less crap than RPG Maker? So this does look like a Flash game. The combat is clunky and unpleasant. It plays worse than Rampage in the arcade games. It's hard to suggest this has any real value as a game due to the bad gameplay and even worse technical delivery. It's also abandoned, the developer had a brief moment of sobriety about 4 years ago, realized what crap he'd dumped onto Steam, and wisely never touched it again. And neither should you, you deserve better. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming idustry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at less than 100 concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, that's nothing.
This game does have a nice concept, but it have some big flaws: - There is no tutorial; - The controls are somewhat strange; - The game seems to have a lore (?), but there is nothing that explains it (the closest of explaing the lore is the kaijus bios); - There are sometimes my healthbar doesn't show my actual health. This led me to think I was good on health, but then out of nowhere, I simply died; - Versus mode doesn't make sense, because instead of a 1v1, out of nowhere, a lot of enemies spawn and they aid your opponent to take you down; - Mission mode have a similar problem to the Versus mode, but worse, because *everything* will try to beat you, even if you try to not destroy nothing, the military will hunt you down, even if there is a kaiju that is not one of the aliens, they will also try to kill you. This game feels very unfair. And unfortunately these things will never be fixed, because the game is dead now. Had it still alive (and fixed), it probably would be a awesome kaiju game. Damn, I even wanted to try to add my own kaiju to this game.
Very cool concept with lots of cool monsters. Unfinished abandonware game that doesn't play very well and isn't very fun.
This is a great free kaiju game it is well worth getting. all kinds of kaiju/mechs, unlocks, modes and more.
