Looks like a student project. Free, short, and the need of a lot of rework. For one, there's no mouse or mouse control in this FPS shooter game. Something that has been a staple of FPS games for well over 20 years. Perhaps wanting to give the feeling of games of that era, but I have high doubts about that. The game has all the designs that it had console in-mind. As most of the Xbox control prompts are always shown along with PC-keyboard. And a bad one. On both controls you'll have to cycle through your weapon from bat – revolver – shotgun – assault rifle. In that order. 1 and 2 on the keyboard is used to use medical kit and runes. The UI is basic with the health circle being the only standout. The biggest problem here is the FOV. They had console in-mind, so it's too low. There is nothing in options menu, where there's very little change. I had to increase the brightness and lower the master volume. Only to learn that if you leave the game and return to continue, all the setting have reset. This includes starting new game. Where I also noticed, the highlighting button is slightly darker and/or yellower. Not white. This kept confusing me. Wondering how this would fare on console, with a couch and TV setting. You'll get 4 weapons across the game. The starting weapon is the bat. I found it to be the second most reliable. If you time it right you can get 2 cycle attack. It has a bash to stun enemies for second with no damage. I found it to be useless. The basic tactics of steeping back-and-forth and strafing did the work better. Pistol and shotgun are the least reliable. All fire arms have the screen you're looking at as accuracy, unless you aim down sight. Even then, you'll get the ghost rounds. Point blank, aimed and no damage done. This is also where I was introduced to the reloading and its animations. When you reload you don't lose any ammunition. But you'll always reload from complete empty or spent. Even if you fire a single round or shell. The revolver being the worse, as it'll reload 6 rounds, 1 by 1. This where the animation gave me as smile. As your protagonist hold the revolver on their right hand. The cylinder swings out to the right. Protagonist seems to detach their hole left arm to load the cylinder, up over the revolver, keeping the revolver pointed forward. The strongest weapon I found to be the assault rifle. The only one with a magazine, fast reload animation, good accuracy and damage. Movement is fine. Just as long you don't bump into anything as you'll lose all momentum and get the feeling that you're moving through tough mud. If you move forward then crouch you'll slide for a bit. Can be used for 1 fence. Didn't find any other use for it. A wall jump you'll need for a rune. And if you want to bait the boss for an achievement. Story? Sure. I saw this as part Steams Lovecraftian Days 2024 special. And it's not good.
