Daddy is an amateur made first person shooter action/adventure game where you rampage through a cultist filled house and basically do action FPS stuff... only it's not very good. This comes across as a student project or a kind of tech demo, more than a fully, professionally developed game. A lot of things just aren't right, and the polish on the game is non-existent... I guess one example is the developer couldn't even work out how to make the mouse work in the game menus. Unfortunately, it's all downhill from there. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game assets are fairly mediocre/low quality, in some places they appear mismatched... Ultimately the quality of these assets, and thus the overall visual quality is lower than average, and low quality always makes for a less than optimal gaming experience. Remember, we're looking for the best of the best of 100,000+ games on Steam. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Daddy didn't appeal much to the people who tried to play the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for beating the game (not too hard), trivial to get, but less than 17 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game. The poor quality of this game is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 9 players. This is a remarkably low number (especially for a free game!), and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you download this game? Is this one of the best of the 11,000+ free games on Steam? The game is completely free, which is noble a gesture that shows dedication to both gamers, and the gaming industry. Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration. It's a shame in this case that the implementation is below the minimum standards a dedicated PC game should offer to enthusiasts. The quality here is simply too low for me to recommend, even for free.

Sorry, but.... no, Im not sorry ... This was free and I paid too much. This is bad, and not even in a good way.
simply amazing, changed my life.
Daddy is a game. But it's not your average game. This is a game that doesn't tell you anything. This is a game with voice acting. Should it have had voice acting? No. But it does. I loved hitting stuff with my baseball bat. Made me want peanut butter. Everything sounds like meat when you hit it. A good detail.
