cool game
There's something fishy about this one. Firstly, the game plays like a modern run 'n' gun game with mouse pointing and WASD movement. The main and only game mode involves shooting robotic dudes and robotic dogs that rush onscreen from both sides. When you die, it's back to the loadout screen, and it's here that things get decidedly fishy. It looks like a standard upgrade system, with some characters, guns and abilities costing $ and some costing BTC. What's a BTC? Well, it's a bitcoin! but isn't bitcoin like $80k or thereabouts? Is this in-game fictional bitcoin? Clicking on the BTC total launches a MTX store where you can buy 0.1BTC for $0.99, implying Bitcoin to be worth $10 per. The best value deal is 12.0BTC + 4.0BTC for $79.99, working out to $5 per bitcoin. On the other side of the screen, there are some amounts in GBP that look commensurate with the actual cost of bitcoin. 3BTC costing an eye watering £240,000. Whether these are real purchases or not is above my paygrade, but I can tell you the store frontend is real. My best guess without digging further is that this is a cryptogame that operates off bitcoin and the purchases are real but you need to do something that is outside the Steam user experience in order to get it set up as a cryptogame to start with. i.e. you need to tie your wallet to the game and register your avatar. I know very very little about cryptogames outside of the NFT headlines that went around a few years back. It seems there is a little cottage industry involving beta testers, whales, krill and cryptobros that has kind of replaced QA and marketing. As far as I can tell, the goal of any of these games is to attract whales to buy in-game cosmetics and advantages from the dev, but you can't feed whales without krill and you don't get krill without incentives. Since being beaten repeatedly by people with loose wallets is no fun, an alternative strategy has emerged, and now krill can play for points and ranks in-game, and are later rewarded in what are termed 'airdrops' and are paid in cryptocurrency. In theory, and cryptocurrency can be associated with a game like this, so it's little wonder that many cryptogames have partnerships with smaller coins where the fluctuations can be pinned down to a particular games' effect rather than broader market forces. Anyway, so cryptogames are here, and the whole enterprise seems to be a short-term marketing pump. You get people playing the game with the promise of crypto in a few months time. You attract as many whales as possible by promising them the game's a) good, b) really popular, c) easy to master, and d) pay-to-win. The whales buy electric blue jumpsuits and bright pink laser rifles, ♥♥♥♥ on the krill, and the krill get compensated in what might turn out to be a completely worthless currency if the whole endaevour turns out to be a failure. Now, I realise this sounds like an old man shouting at clouds. 1 simple question... why does this game work in VR?

Cyber Soldier is a free to play 2D side scroller shooter game. It worked on Windows 11, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Says it have VR support, but does Not work in VR, but it show up in the Steam VR Home game list. Worked good on the desktop using keyboard and mouse. Maybe try this free game.
game would be really fun but oculus quest 2 doesn't seem to have support
