It's kinda like if Gran Turismo 1 and Need For Speed 1 had a baby. And that baby grew up to be a disappointment. Good graphics and soundtrack though. Good time waster.
This is a super sexy tech demo, and it's worth the 0.71 € I paid for it. But it's not a game. The UI is clunky as hell, controller support is bad, steering is super twitchy. There's no sound effects other than police sirens and the sound of my computer's fans spinning up to vmax. If you don't hit the ever present invisible insta-stop wall as soon as you put 1 wheel off the track, you're basically cruising around at 333kph permanently, except the Ferrari is somehow very underpowered to climb even the smallest hill. There's no traffic to avoid, and the cops are absolutely ruthless. There's 3 "modes" with different goals but neither of them actually keep your top score to beat which would have been the only point of (re)playing this. That being said.. the graphics are sublime, the music is excellent and it's a nice distraction. But this needs quite some improvement to actually be sold, and even be called a game. This is the first review I ever wrote on Steam but it's because I think it needs to be out there. It's not all bad, but it's certainly not something I'd recommend any of my friends to purchase...
Incompleto. Repetitivo
Warning: Broken Game! This game has design/implementation defects that will render this unplayable for many gamers. The game does not launch and simply crashes to desktop on recent builds of Windows 10/11.
I'm not really sure if Cyber OutRun is an asset flip. It definitely looks like one. A lot of the game assets don't seem like they were created by the developer, but they haven't credited any asset creators for supplying assets, which might be a case of plagiarism. There's no evidence, so we need to give the benefit of the doubt... regardless, asset flip or not, the quality here is indistinguishable from many asset flip/cash grab scams, and that's a problem in itself. I would normally write some commentary about the game and whatever obvious technical defects it has at this point... but the game just doesn't run, so, you know. Don't buy it. Anyway, some other background info in case knowing the game is broken isn't enough to deter you from buying it. You don't have to take my word about how bad the game is, we can measure the interest in a game by how much people bothered to play it. Cyber OutRun has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game absolutely failed to capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for starting any of the game modes, trivial to achieve, but less than 6 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. That's a tiny, tiny proportion of gamers who even bothered with this. Ouch. The poor quality of this game is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? The developer is deliberately and unethically trying to scam gamers into paying them the greedy, cash grab price of $3 USD for a game they know is broken. Don't give it to them. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
ÇOK GEREKSİZ KASIYOR....
Stupid invisible walls to the left and right of the road into which police pinch you . Rave. The game doesn't work without a mouse. Enter and let's go doesnt work, Any visible button require you to take the mouse. Very bad. Key remapping is not allowed. Outdrive and Vecter are much better on these points, everything needs to be fixed
