Reviews
This game is horrendously bad. A buddy we played with got a refund. I would have too, but I only do that if the game doesn't work. Liar's Bar was great and there was strategy to the bluffing. This game design though, is mostly pure luck and the animations and gaps between rounds is excruciatingly long. Even if you figure out who the Imposter is, it can still take 10+ minutes to finish the game. DO NOT BUY!
ゲームとして成立していない。 現時点では非常に好評となっているが、これがサクラでなければ 人類の知能の低下を疑う。 日本のレビューが不評になっていて少し安心した。

Cut That Wire is a multiplayer party game that reimagines the familiar Old Maid card game by combining it with bluffing, social deduction, and unpredictable bomb-defusal mechanics. Developed and published by WakaStudio, the game transforms a simple card-based concept into a fast-paced social experience where every decision can lead to either victory or a spectacular defeat. Rather than focusing on complex mechanics, it encourages players to outthink, deceive, and outlast one another through conversation, observation, and a little bit of luck. Its accessible gameplay makes it easy for newcomers to join, while the constant tension between strategy and chance keeps every match entertaining. The primary game mode revolves around drawing cards, discarding matching pairs, and desperately avoiding the Joker. The player left holding the dreaded card must attempt to defuse a bomb by selecting one of several wires, creating a suspenseful finale that turns an otherwise traditional card game into a dramatic showdown. Because players never know whether their final choice will save them or trigger disaster, each round maintains a satisfying level of excitement. The straightforward rules make learning the game effortless, but the psychological battles between players add a layer of depth that rewards careful observation and clever bluffing. Cut That Wire expands beyond its signature mode by introducing additional party experiences that appeal to different play styles. One of its standout alternatives is a trivia-based challenge where players answer questions across a wide range of categories, including entertainment, animals, music, anime, and general knowledge. This mode provides a welcome change of pace between intense bluffing sessions, allowing groups to compete using their knowledge instead of deception. The inclusion of multiple game types helps keep multiplayer sessions fresh while making the overall package more versatile for parties and casual gatherings. Another major feature is the social deduction mode, where players receive hidden roles with opposing objectives. Engineers work to protect the group and guide everyone toward survival, while Imposters secretly manipulate situations to ensure the bomb detonates. This setup creates an atmosphere filled with suspicion, misleading information, and constant second-guessing. Every discussion becomes meaningful, as players attempt to identify who can be trusted while avoiding manipulation from those working against the team. Communication and persuasion become just as valuable as any gameplay mechanic, making voice chat an important part of the overall experience. Visually, the game embraces a colorful and comedic presentation that perfectly complements its lighthearted nature. Explosions, failed bomb defusals, and player eliminations are portrayed with exaggerated humor rather than realism, ensuring that defeat feels entertaining instead of frustrating. The various themed environments, including imaginative locations such as space stations and gothic castles, provide enough visual diversity to prevent matches from becoming repetitive. Combined with expressive animations and an energetic atmosphere, the presentation reinforces the game's identity as a party-focused experience built around laughter and memorable moments. Accessibility is another notable strength. The controls and mechanics are intentionally simple, allowing players with little gaming experience to understand the basics within minutes. Quick matchmaking also gives solo players an opportunity to find online matches, although the game is at its best when enjoyed with a group of friends willing to embrace the social aspects of deception and deduction. Since much of the entertainment comes from player interaction, every session can unfold differently depending on the personalities involved. The game's biggest limitation is that its long-term appeal depends heavily on the quality of the multiplayer experience. Playing with an active and communicative group results in hilarious and unpredictable encounters, while quieter or less engaged lobbies may not fully showcase the game's strengths. Likewise, players seeking an extensive progression system or a substantial solo experience may find the available content somewhat limited. Nevertheless, the variety of modes and emphasis on social interaction provide enough replay value for those who regularly enjoy multiplayer party games. Overall, Cut That Wire succeeds by taking familiar ideas and reshaping them into an engaging multiplayer experience filled with tension, humor, and unpredictable outcomes. Its blend of classic card gameplay, trivia challenges, social deduction, and bomb-defusal mechanics creates a refreshing party game that rewards both clever thinking and good communication. WakaStudio has crafted a title that thrives on player interaction, delivering memorable moments whether friends are cooperating, betraying one another, or desperately hoping they choose the correct wire. While its enjoyment depends largely on having an enthusiastic group to play with, it remains an entertaining and distinctive addition to the multiplayer party genre. Rating: 8/10
