Cursed Broom is such a cute game! It is quiet challenging for me but I am natualy not that good with jump and runs. If I figure out how to do a tricky part of the level it is very rewarding though! The dialog is really funny and the music an grafics are so cute I love it! Overall a really fun game!
Cute game. Had a lot of fun playing it.
I didn't think i could finish the game, but i did manage to figure out all main game screens in the end. Definitely would have looked at a clear video for a few screens if i had found one. But kinda happy that i didn't. This felt like an accomplishment, even if just two hours long (and not getting collectibles).
Very cute platformer with super fun mechanics. Plays well on Steam Deck or on PC with Controller :)
This game is very challenging. It can be fun at some points but it can be very difficult once your out of the sewers. I had to put the game down after awhile and might come back to it on a later date. I really like the music but man this is not a walk in a park platformer.
Cursed broom is a nice little platformer with a unique mechanical gimmick. The main path is shortish, and I haven't done much hunting for optional collectibles outside of the tutorial area yet - I guess you can sink a good deal more time and tries into those. The signature mechanic is the eponymous Cursed Broom. This artifact can fly, but only by building momentum, by wall rebounds, or by environmental boosts. The game could be more verbose in guiding you here - especially the rules of momentum left me confused, and in consequence, some passages felt a little janky, perhaps because there were other intended paths. The wall rebound on the other hand makes for some really interesting interactions - it means the direction you fly (left or right) matters, and you can use obstacles to your advantage by bouncing off of them, occasionally multiple times. Again, what you actually need to do (keep the glide button pressed and just switch directions) could be clearer right away. The artstyle is clean; What you see e.g. in the trailer is what you get, so you'll know right away whether it's your thing or not. The latter part of the world felt kind of bare to me, while earlier on there are nice little details in the level. The soundtrack is catchy and a big plus in my book. It carried the length of the game nicely. A small nitpick: with the option to quit with and without saving, I'd appreciate a warning for the latter. Together with the demo, this led to me playing the sewer level three times over - not a big deal, but easy to avoid IMO with a warning, maybe one that you can opt not to show after the first time.
It is a really cute game! I love the art style! The learning curve is not too steep, however some pieces of paper are really hard to get. I'm not sure, if it is neccessary to collect them all, or if it is some kind of "achievement"? The movement of maya and the controlls are very smooth. Especially when riding the broom. I also like the music a lot! It does really fit with the atmosthere. I usually do not play platformer but I would everyone encurage to try this one. :D I also like, that Maya encurages you to try again, if you failed multipe times to get a jump right.
Very cute art style
I had a lot of fun playing Cursed Broom! The game got a super cute pixel art style and a fun story. The broom mechanic is tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it feels amazing! The controls are smooth, and the platforming challenges are just the right kind of hard, so beating each section feels very rewarding! The music and vibe are spot on and make the whole experience very pleasant. It’s a bit challenging in some areas (especially the hidden paths and collectibles), but if you like a platformer with charm and a little bit of magic, this one is a must-play. Highly recommend for anyone who loves a cute, tough game with lots of heart!
