A charming indie game with character. Hot take on capitalism pros: - excellent worldbuilding - immersive experience: soundtrack, sound effects, and art are very well done - fun and nuanced gameplay that keeps you coming back - balances randomness and skill well - well planned achievements cons: - seems a little too easy (i've won each of my first 3 runs without many difficulties) -- let capitalism be more brutal! (or, have different difficulty settings--that's probably a better way to do it) - as far as i can tell, there isn't "save game" functionality? either that or it's not intuitive how to use it. could be a nice thing to add - not sure if this is a game i could sink 50+ hours into... but the first 4 hours have been very fun and looking forward to finding out overall this was a pleasant surprise and i definitely recommend it as an entertaining diversion
Cool game, wish there was an endless mode
In its current state, the entire game is playable in about 2-3 hours (depending to some degree on luck). Each run only involves 4 rent-due days with a total of 2 additional days in between each, not very many night events (things that happen between days), and there's no endless mode. For $5 I'm not too upset, but it's definitely a much smaller game than I was expecting.
Simple yet very addictive! Certainly worth more than a movie ticket.
Great variety, great music, easy to pick up (ha!), plenty of depth... it's a terrific game for a terrific price.
I loved this game. perfect Casual trading game. I would love to see later version of it where you need to figure out the value of the dice or exchanging more than dice.
what a hidden gem !
It's a game about selling narcot- uh, I mean, cubes, to people. + This game is cool. + Music, GUI sounds - all fits nicelly - but it should be far longer. - really is faaaar too short! - and is faaar too easy, once you get the ball rolling - and lacks endless mode or something I don't think we can beat Papers Please, but it could be kinda in that direction if this game would be expanded. Potential: 7.5 / 10 Actual game 5+ / 10 - far too short Buy when on big sale, imo
Ok, since the negative reviews are not very descriptive I will try to make one. First of all, it's not a terrible game, it has good style and atmosphere. It certainly has a vibe similar to Papers, please, despite being a very different game. You play a shopkeeper trading dice (and money, and actions) with your customers. You can decline any deal you don't like and you can accept if you have the dice that the deal asks for. Ok idea I guess, but it's executed in a fairly boring way. You start off not knowing the value of dice (honestly I still don't fully know what's a good deal), but that doesn't bother me too much. There are some other issues: You can run out of actions fairly quickly in the day - that's bad design. At least for what I saw of the game you can't really affect the number of customers you get. You are fairly limited in what you can do with your dice. There is a harsh "rent" system that goes up significantly every 3 "days" which feels both punishing and arbitrary, ending your game if you had bad RNG. It seems to want to be a roguelite but I didn't see any way to improve your abilities. The game becomes repetitive very quickly, all you do is decline a deal, accept it if you can, or use an ability to enable a deal. It is very cheap though, so you should just give it a shot.
I worked a long shift and swindled a fair amount of people, but was evicted for not paying rent. Although I'm on the streets, I enjoyed every second of it.
