Reviews
I want to like this game, but in the end, I just can't give this launch version my recommendation. Let me explain why in hopes that the indie developer behind it can use this review to vastly improve his first game on Steam here. While the game and controls are well coded in this game, and the game offers 60 levels of progressively more difficult levels, what's here now just isn't enough to keep you entertained for very long. This game lacks anything to make you feel like a badass. No upgrades. No power-ups. No rapid fire, movement speed increases, etc. This means that level after level while you face more and more mobs, your movement, fire-rate, and gameplay mechanics never change at all. This just starts feeling super tedious after mere minutes sadly. You don't even have grenades to throw. You have nothing but your basic very simplistic firing weapon. Ugh. How about smoke bombs so that any mobs hit by the smoke are blinded and simply stop moving until the smoke clears? This is just a couple of ideas. To get more ideas, this developer should just play any of the many Vampire Survivor like games available on Steam to see how much fun it is to actually advance your hero as you progress through the game. This is a great way to reward you for succeeding and doing well in the game. Right now, the game just feels like it punishes you for advancing through the levels by giving you no rewards at all but making the game progressively more difficult. The player (in ANY game like this) NEEDS to be and feel rewarded for their success! NOT RECOMMENDED: I'll check back on this game in a few months and see if this developer has listened to my feedback to improve this game. Until then, this game is NOT recommended by me as there are just far too many similar games that do this much better and are more fun at the same price or less.
