About
In Crystal Tower Defense you stop an endless amount of crystal-type enemies from reaching the portal to Earth. To achieve this goal you can build your own labyrinth using turrets and walls as well as selling obstacles on the map. You will need to stay alert since the enemies grow stronger the longer you defend the portal. Upgrade your turrets and alter the labyrinths layout to adapt to the new challenges.

Enemies will follow the path YOU create! This challenges you to experiment with different labyrinth layouts. The map, with its randomly generated obstacles, will tickle your strategic thinking every time you jump into a run. Remove map obstacles to open up new possibilities during a run and restructure your labyrinth to use each of your turrets to its full potential.

As you progress through the stages, you can unlock 10 turrets.
You can upgrade each turret's main stats in a run. The required gold is earned through destroying the enemies.

Use 6 different abilities to support the turrets in your labyrinth and fend off the enmies.

Each enemy has a chance to drop crystals! These crystals are your primary currency and are used to unlock new and different turrets, as well as permanently upgrade them. Completing a stage rewards you with a big crystal that holds permanent upgrades for your turrets! You can equip these upgrades in the armory.
These big crystals can only be obtained playing the game. After each stage you get rewarded one big crystal. To claim them, you need to end your run manually, if you run out of lifes, you lose all your gathered rewards.
The higher the cleared stage is, the better are the rewards. The drop chance of each rarity, per stage, can be found in the menu.

The forge gives you the possibility of merging your hard-earned upgrades, to achieve bigger and better bonuses. Combine a multitude of possible items and find the best possible upgrade path!
Combining your upgrades always results in a better bonus. Combine multiple of the same, to decided the result type.

A TD players TD game. Needs a bit of polish, but it is pretty amazing. It's like going back in time to old Warcraft 3 custom TD games and losing track of 10 hours of your day. So much fun. I highly recommend this.
At this early stage, seems to be a very competent mazing Tower Defense title - just that bit different to other mazing titles in the genre. A lot to think about and it may take you a couple of runs before you have complete confidence in what you are doing. Starts off very easy, but the difficulty soon ramps up. Extremely interesting upgrade system. The runs can take a bit of time (albeit you have a faster mode), but you have the ability to back out between waves and resume at a later time. Enjoying the ride.
All levels / modes are the same map. Maps are played to an unlimited wave. Progress is based on maximum waves reached on any difficulty as well as meta currency. You unlock new towers and new enemies by reaching higher waves. Very fair difficulty curve, you can choose to play on harder difficulties with harder portal spawns / more buff and debuff squares and these harder difficulties award better meta currency. Game runs into performance issues passed Wave 60, 2x speed you end up leaking more than you should etc.
This game is not balanced at all. After a few upgrades, I can just sit and let the game go without building anything for 20-30 levels, and then I end the game because I am not doing anything. It is a shame, because it could have been a good game with LESS. Everyone is designing games to have mobile phone mechanics, and it just works poorly. Tower defense should be a skill game, not a grind.
An overly simplistic take on tower defense doesn't do anything terribly wrong, but also lacks anything interesting or compelling to make it worth the purchase currently. With a handful of basic towers that have behaviors you've seen dozens of times across other tower defense games, the surrounding mechanics really needed to bring something special to spice up the gameplay. Unfortunately, it feels like there are too many systems and all of them are underdeveloped. The card slotting system could be interesting, but the limited number of stats (damage, range, fire rate, cost) and boring card acquisition/upgrading makes for a system that doesn't drive me to play more. Poor speed options means that making any progress takes ages, as even if you can kill every enemy the moment it walks out of the portal making it to higher wave counts takes ages. The UI is oversized and bland as well, and the vfx/visuals don't sell it either. There are so many good tower defense games around these days that something like this needs to go back to the drawing board and focus on finding what separates it from the pack and how to reinforce that in a way that makes you eager to keep going back.
This game has a lot of great ideas and has the bones of a very fun tower defense game. The issue is the ideas are not fleshed out or fall flat due to other mechanics within the game. With the developer mentioning in discord they are moving on from the game I cannot recommend it in its current state. I really enjoyed my first 3-5 hours of this game and had I written a review at that time I would of recommended this 100%, the concept of building your own maze how long you can last is really interesting as a concept. However after that, the game falls off fast, once you get upgrades the game is not well balanced at all. My last 10-15 hours were just setup 5-6 turrets over a couple of levels then AFK just letting the game run in the background with zero interaction besides start next level button and every 10-15 waves dropping another tower and spamming a few upgrades, just to farm the last achievement. It would be worth it on sale for an interesting concept idea and the first few hours, where it is a really enjoyable and unique tower defense from my experience.
This is one of the first tower defense games that provided an ability to control the path of enemies. If you lose focus and make a mistake on the path, you will likely lose. I have learned that it is better, early game, to leave the game early and reap the rewards then trying to continue to level. This is a game of patients and strategy.
A Tower Defense on steroids! I love how you can build walls and change the enemy's path, essentially creating your very own labyrinth of carnage and chaos! There's quite a bit of towers and upgrades, plus special powers you can acquire. I have enjoyed what I've played so far and highly recommend this game!
