Crypterion is a pretty cool point & click Visual Novel with beautiful character art. Recruit an interesting cast of characters and travel to several planets. The main gripe here is its crypto market, stonks. Buy goods or invest and hopefully dont lose all your money, except you suck, like me. This game is the best example why I should never invest, ever, Id be homeless. The developers are still at it and update the game. It always makes me sad to see such a neat and quality oozing project with barely any exposure, especially for that price. Maybe it wouldnt hurt to invest into some marketing.
EA VN trade sim + nice art and story + mechanics = Enjoy the best of both worlds and adventure through space. Encounter events, buy items, crypto, artifacts. Pay down loans before traveling.
Follow our curator for similar games
https://store.steampowered.com/curator/35180752-3-point-play/
I'm reviewing this game with the understanding that it is very much a work in progress. As someone who is a proponent of free markets and cryptocurrency IRL, it's cool to see a game that incorporates these concepts into the gameplay. However, the economic aspect of this game is very basic. The real heart of the game is the story. You get to make a lot of choices while getting to know the cast of characters better. While some of the situations presented to you are intentionally a bit goofy, that's just the style of comedy that game is going for. I got quite a few chuckles out of the scripted events. Often times, the humor was so good that I wasn't even mad when the game "punished" me for making the wrong choice. It's a bit zany at times, but I think that gives it a certain charm. Another thing that I really love about this game is the art. Both the technological (e.g., spaceship art) and character art are amazing. I think this is important for a story-driven game like this where you develop an attachment to the characters. The game needs to have a lot of content added to it before I would call it "complete," and some things need a bit of polishing, but the dev seems to be working on the content quite diligently, and what we have right now is a solid foundation for a great indie game. Right now (Apr 2021) you can get several hours of entertainment out of it before you hit the (currently incomplete) end of the storyline. I would recommend this game to anyone interested in a sci-fi-themed visual novel with a minor tycoon side element. Although I'm referring to this game as a VN, I think it's worth noting that this game gives you a lot more freedom than most VNs, and it also has a few point-and-click moments.

I feel like my choices doesn’t matter when it comes to story progression. For example; when choosing whose
controlling Moxie/Altear
, whomever you picked, doesn’t matter. There was a point where I can
choose to tell the truth or lie to the other factions in regards to my meeting with the Empress. Chose to tell the truth, but oh no! Astra steps in and lies for me.
Does it really matter my choices down the line? It’s all probably gonna lead to the same scenarios and probably very little dialogue change. In other events, depending on choice, it could reward you or see a different reaction from the characters, but that’s it. I think the choices that does matter are relationship related (mostly the 2 main heroines). There are events that you’re have to find. Maybe a few scenes where I think an item would been great to have at that point like the engagement ring. I bought the umbrella after taking Astra and Moxie to Soro and got that rain scene. Would it be different if got the umbrella before then? No scenes/events referenced or required the umbrella so far. The business/trade mechanics is simple. I made most of money off of commodities (buy low, sell high – over and over). Good thing nothing is time sensitive. There a couple of other options to make money but they are just chump change. No setting. Can’t change the volume or window size. No manual saves, it was fine since I can just cancel the game mid-event and go back to before the event started. But I wished there was a save point before you get to choose who you want to end up with. I chose Astra. I do not want to start over from the beginning, so I sticking with my choice. Enjoyment fell after Renosar. The conflicts comes and goes like the wind. I’m pretty much in it for the romance for the most part. I think the synopsis/”about this game” kinda promised what it set out to do, but by the end feels hollow for me. "Not Recommend" but don't completely dismissed it. Maybe get it on a big sale. Watch some gameplay if you're curious. And if romance is your main focus, the 2 main heroines are interesting.
After 10-ish hours (and 2-ish on the demo) and considering about doing a second playthrough, I think I can safely recommend this game. The game loop is simple yet effective. You buy/resell things and invest to win money. Then come the story, as it is a Visual Novel at its core, even though there is some minigame more or less fun (not a huge fan of Endless). The characters are interesting, fun to follow and are, in my opinion, the main appeal of the game. The writing is nothing exceptional but it gets the job done. Also, the intrigue can sometimes be a little messy. Understandable, but messy. On this last point, I think it mainly comes to the open nature of the game : some choices are available but should not be (how come my character knows already his origins ? The character did not meet this but act as he knows him and so on). There are also some typos here and there, but again nothing too serious. As for the intrigue, it is ok. Not revolutionary, not bad. I think that the characters are what makes it shine. For the visual part of the novel, it is fine. Ships are cool and backgrounds are nice. Once more, the characters are cool and I really dig their design. Some even have a nice set of expression. One complaint : I am not a fan of the style change for two characters (Astra and Moxi). Fortunately for me, it only appears in one specific scene. One last complaint : I am not a huge fan of easter eggs and secret, even though I can see their appeal. I think two of them are really well hidden and I would have liked it better if there were more clues to get them (especially the ring and the computer but I may be biased for this two). All in all, I have really enjoyed my time on Crypterion. It made me curious to try its previous game and see what the developer has in store for us.
Sci-Fi based VN, fun and wholesome. ~10-20 hours gameplay depending on play style. Side characters are more than plot-devices, they have personalities and their own stories.
A love letter to the 30-year-old game Gazillionaire (also available on Steam) with a dose of cute anime girls and some tropes I adore. Buy it if space trading and emotionless girls even remotely interest you. Some caveats:

The ending feels very rushed, particularly in its climactic scenes. It's a fun ride, but the lead-in is very sudden and the aftermath is basically nil. Once it happens, you're left feeling
that the girls are best when both are at your side, but you can only pick one, which feels
a bit empty, and not in a compelling way. There are no plans to include such a route.
There is a significant amount of post-game content. I have not finished all of it.
There are some very finicky mechanics you have to interact with to progress the story/find some secrets. The hide-and-seek portion was probably the worst offender; the auction house was pretty bad, too, owing to its inspiration from Gazillionaire's auction system.
There is NO save function that I could find. The game carries over ONE autosaving file, and it isn't even cloud synced.
Apart from that, the game runs great on my Deck and the art is charming and at times quite beautiful. Sound is great, mechanics are fun, and the story proceeds semi-reasonably - so long as you're picking the options the developer seems to have intended. No major bugs that I was able to find. Writing is a solid 8/10. For the asking price I absolutely recommend it.
I found the game randomly on my discovery queue and was intrigued by the premise and art style. It's a sci-fi visual novel mixed with a economic tycoon. Went in pretty much blind and honestly, it's a heavy contender for my game of the year. It's genuinely my favorite kind of game, one that just oozes passion and soul. It's hard to explain, just that every bit of it you can feel the dev was putting their heart into it. I loved every minute of the game and it's crime the game doesn't have more eyes on it. In fairness, despite it's shine it does have some rough edges in places such as with the UI being a little confusing at times and being unsure of where to click or go next but nothing deal breaking. The art is downright beautiful, the story is engaging, and I'm eagerly looking forward to whatever this dev puts out next.
This games is a 10/10. The art works is gorgeous, the story line are really well developed. A visual novel Tycoon, I been trying to find a games like this forever since there aren't many and the ones I have played are so old now. I love this game I I been enjoying it. Do not get fooled by my low game time, this game is a gem. I hope the dev can keep doing this kind of amazing games. Congrats and thanks for making such an outstanding game.
