CRUST SHMUP

A niche within a niche. The gameplay sucks, but that's just being true to the theme. Love the Soundtrack

Crust Shmup is definitely an interesting little game. The subject matter is so niche I wonder how many people on Steam actually know what it's about AND would be interested. Gameplay-wise it's very arcade, visually and conceptually it's very bleak and it's full of cool punk collages. I also feel like there might me some interesting mechanics that I haven't discovered yet... it's very surprising a game like this even exists, but then again, it's 2024. I wonder what Justin Broadrick, Nicholas Bullen and Mick Harris would think of this! The soundscape is interesting too... maybe it's edited excerpts from Scum? Or just noise pieces made with the Swans in mind. I just wish it had more depth and content (AND D-BEATS!!!), because it seems very very barebones! But it's free (for political reasons too, I may assume), so you can give it a try yourself instead of reading my rambling!
