Have you ever played Club Penguin as a child and thought "Damn... I want to date one of those penguins!"? If you answer "yes" to this question, you may seek some serious therapy. If you can't afford therapy, just play this game to pursue your weird fantasies.
Crush Penguin is a interactive novella. The story is driven by player choices. The story and the game artwork are geared around penguins. The graphics are basic layer by design so this game is very undemanding, The game also has several save slots which make it possible to try different scenarios. Playing this on my Dell Latitude 5440 showed it to be very playable,
Each of the different paths offered a different perspective of the world and it's inhabitants which helped a lot with the world building. The penguins you can get involved with each have distinct traits and a big personal problem that seems to always lead them into trouble. Also I highly recommend taking a look at the extras menu on the title screen once you've gotten to know everyone. Bios on characters and information on different elements of the world are available here and are worth viewing. The music was catchy and was quite fitting. I liked how it would change during some of the more serious moments to let you know that something big is happening and you get to see it unfold right in front of your eyes. The hand drawn art was very charming and it gave off the impression that this was just a nice penguin paradise of a civilization. But in reality it was all a deception created to disguise a cruel and unfair world. The art really sucked me in. Nice work! There were times when the game would give me two different options but no matter what I chose the outcome would be the same but with slightly different dialogue. This limited my freedom and it made me feel like I was fighting over control of the penguin's body and it's will at times. A little more freedom would offer more split paths and replay value. I was able to get all endings with a little over an hour of total playtime. In conclusion, Crush Penguin is a short but well done glimpse of an unfair society where no matter the status of a penguin, they will never be happy unless they find someone that is understanding and kind. Only you, the player can make a difference on these poor penguins. 3.5/5
It's a cute game, worth it on sale edit: Now that I see it's literally only 99 cents (which is down from its original price of $5) I'd definitely say it's worth it 100%. And even though I say it's cute, it's surprisingly dark for a Club Penguin inspired dating sim. So yeah, get it.
I love penguins
ngl was not what i was expecting, its actually really good and its usually not something i play but surprisingly i enjoyed this game i love the characters + all the different endings just realised it was only recently released.. hope they will add even more characters and story my only complain is how there isnt more options, and the chat box along with menu is pretty plain overall its good
ENG: A very short visual novel / dating sim with multiple paths, about penguins living in a society as sick as ours. The hand-drawn illustrations, though few, have their charm. Overall, it's decent for its low price, though it's nothing extraordinary either. Get it on sale.
Pingus doing yellow snow during nights
Guys, it's a visual novel where you date penguins with a charming, hand-drawn art style, catchy music, and all they are asking for is 99 cents... give them a dollar and enjoy some penguin lovin'!
Crush Penguin was a funny little wild ride
