the game is surprisingly good indie clone of the legendary Destruction Derby
Certainly an enjoyable experience, I'd say I should've put more time in this to review fairly however I didn't feel their was much to achieve or gain through this game sadly, I feel it has all the components of the perfect Destruction Derby replacement (whilst modernising those elements) however there's something a miss with this game that doesn't hit any note properly. I can't explain it and with the time I put into it I can't really be arsed to waste more time to get to the bottom of it. Sorry but it doesn't do it for me. It'll likely do so for some and as such I'll give it a positive review. Maybe I'll come back to this at a later date and be able to update and clarify my review with more depth (I do hope so) but for here and now that's it from me - wanted more, didn't meet expectations but ya know, some hits - some misses.

Одна из лучших инди-гонок, что я играл. Конечно мало контента в игре, но я так понимаю ее делали пара человек и если бы игра была хоть чуть-чуть популярна, то были бы и обновы и развитие.
For an indie game, this game's technically impressive due to the effort put into the AI. The AI isn't sophisticated per se, but it's impressive how chaotic the races & derbies can be, without the AI feeling like they're scripted. I also disagree with people saying the physics being janky. It is an acquired taste for sure, but it emulates the era it's trying to emulate well, and I kinda like how its lack of precision can make things more chaotic. So while I like the core of the game, it somehow just doesn't come together for me. The races quickly become exhausting after just a few minutes, because you're doing 7-9 laps without much to do or think about moment-to-moment (not to mention most races are decided early-on, depending on if you can avoid pileups in the first few corners). Most of the tracks are barren-looking and completely flat, and just aren't interesting to drive around. The Derby events are alright... for a couple of rounds, but they do get old quickly. I also don't like how wrecked cars are difficult to make-out from live cars; would've been nice to see them get totalled or set on fire, because sniping the last few cars gets tedious. The other problem is the lack of content: There's only 8 maps - 5 of which are races, and 3 of them are derbies. There's also no variety in the cars or customization, so all the cars look the same. All in all, this game kinda feels like a tech demo. It's got some decent ideas, but it just lacks content and a bit of X-factor to make it really be worth your time. I'd maybe buy this for $1 for 15m-1h of distraction.
Remember the old Destruction Derby series from the late 90's? Well Crumple Zone is trying to recreate, and it's pretty good!
Definitely the best destruction derby game I've ever played. The split screen local play makes this game so much fun to play with friends. A real throw back to the good old days of destruction derby, like on the ps1. Would highly recommend this game for it's fun story and local split screen with friends

I wish this game had more cars and tracks, as well as mod support (or was in the workshop). It's simple, it's fun, and it brings back my childhood with the vehicular combat games that were very plentiful in the 90s and early 00s. I bought it on sale and then bought it for my friend after remote playing together. I plan on completing it to the best of my ability, maybe even 100%ing it, although it'll come in spurts, the tracks to get very repetitive and stale after awhile. I hope the devs are still around and willing to put more effort into this game or even a successor.
nice game
Well put together flatout derby with balanced opponents, with enough skill you will win big.
