Yet again, a game I am terrible at, but holy crap it's good! Just pixely enough for my taste, makes me angry when I mess up, but I know FULL WELL that it's entirely my fault and not the game's fault. Did I jump too soon? Most likely. Did I forget how to use my weapon. Indubitably! But it's got a good story (so far) and I'm really enjoying the way the game moves and plays. It's deliberate, not fast (just listen to those clanking footsteps) and I appreciate it all the more for that. I'm not sure if I will ever get all the way through the game, but I'm sure going to try. NOTE: All of this playing via keyboard and mouse, and still my hands don't feel like claws after 20+ minutes of gameplay.
Very nice find
COSMONAUT is an okay Indie, adventure game, okay then story. In the far future a scavenger vessel is on the lookout for the missing Diogenes, an s-class research vessel that disappeared 80 years ago in the vast Kuiper Belt, the vessel Diogenes had not just become an iconic symbol of humanity's early manned voyages to the outer solar system, but it has now become a treasure trove for all scavengers across the solar system. And this scavenger team has been able to find the lost spaceship but who knows why it really disappeared, perhaps that treasure trove of a spaceship is more of a floating coffin in the dark vastness of space. Now let’s go into the likes, the story is good it takes some inspiration from other works of science fiction horror games like Dead Space, the story does have some obvious twists that you will probably see coming, but they still did something with the story that I didn't expect. The notes for the story was good as you know I like notes in video games as they can help with the world and there notes do a good job in that, although there's a slight problem with them and the story itself but that’s for the dislikes. The gameplay was okay you basically have a kind of gravity gameplay where you jump from different places; it’s sort of like in the original Dead Space, you also later on get a gun and it was okay, there's also some puzzles. The puzzles were good it's pretty easy to do as the game just straight up tells you. The graphics are good has a nice retro aesthetic that can be quite pleasing and despite some of its simplicity still having nice uses of colors and details. The levels are good the ship is nice and spooky with some interesting variations like a jungle level which was surprising. The few enemies and that one boss were okay they had interesting designs; probably the best enemy was the chaser enemy. The characters are okay, the main character is good and the game does give him a little depth. The music was okay nothing really to write home about. So is this game scary? Not really it doesn't really even have a tense atmosphere, this is kind of sad because I feel like you could add a few spooky things to this game. Now let’s go into the dislikes, okay I did say there was a problem with the story and the notes and that is that the text can be a bit hard to read sometimes, I don't know it felt a little too blocky and the makers of this game could have added an option to turn off the blockiness of the text. There is also just one ending and I feel the game needs at least two endings, I mean after defeating the final boss you're given a choice, I feel like there should have been an ending that reflected that choice. Also the game sort of ends like there's no closure over what happened to our main character after the ending. Now the bad thing about the gameplay was the gravity part its really frustrating like the original Dead Space where if you jump you can't control your character and you end up dying, it's sort of like this except you can jump here and hit an enemy and die. Lastly there's no achievements for this game which I feel like there should have been even if they were simply achievements like you started the game and you finished the game. Okay now that said COSMONAUT is an okay Indie, adventure game, with a good story, good notes and good graphics, I recommend this game since it's free, I do suggest having some patience with the gameplay though so if you're looking for a sci-fi horror game that's for free this might be for you.

Just finished the game. Not sure if it is inteded to be a 2-hour short run, but I've had my fun. Couldn't really say it feels like a proper horror, but for its price it's a decent experience.
Very generous and cool of the devs to make it free, as it is a pretty solid little indie game. Not perfect but a lot of heart, charm, atmosphere, and a nice boss fight as well that requires some mastery of the mechanics. I kinda wish the enemies didn't cause you to hallucinate on death since you have to stand pretty far away to avoid the cloud they give off - and from what I can tell it doesn't actually hurt it just messes up the screen and causes some pretty loud sfx. I dunno, just seemed like overkill and not much effect other than making you stand and wait for it to wear off. But not a dealbreaker, and otherwise it was fun!
