Cosmo Tales is a pretty decent game for chill nights, though it definitely has its flaws. My favorite part is easily the detailed car model, and the environmental destruction is super satisfying when you blow stuff up. What's also great is that the controls feel totally smooth on mouse and keyboard, so you don't even need a controller. The storyline is pretty mid, but driving around and wrecking the map keeps things fun enough. Overall, it's a solid title that won't mind-blow you, but it's still worth playing.
An incredibly stylish and breezy roguelite that, while not reinventing the genre, adds enough unique flavor to keep us jumping back behind the wheel of those constantly wisecracking space cars time and time again.

From my gameplay experience I did enjoy this game having only a few issues. I feel that the power up cards that show on screen could have a better artwork to represent them that fit better with this stylized approach of a game. The other issue is the lack of optimization CURRENTLY. I say currently as the devs specifically say that it is their main focus to optimize this game to the best of their ability. From the fact that this game is still in early access and has a fun literal gameplay loop I see a strong future if the optimization gets fixed.
Cosmo Tales is the casual colourful flightsim/roguelike i've needed in my life. It's a wonderfully wholesome little adventure wrapped in a gorgeous 1970s-inspired aesthetic that feels a bit like James Gunn's Guardians of The Galaxy. The experience feels like discovering a forgotten Saturday-morning sci-fi cartoon, complete with groovy visuals, charming characters, and a soundtrack that absolutely nails the era. The dimension-switching mechanic is a particularly clever touch, allowing one to shift between realities to uncover new paths, solve environmental puzzles, and see familiar spaces in an entirely different light. It gives the otherwise straightforward adventure a satisfying layer of discovery without ever becoming needlessly complicated. There is something wonderfully sincere about the whole experience. The colorful art, playful presentation, and upbeat soundtrack come together to create a game that is a loads of fun to play. Nothing feels needlessly cynical or overly complicated; Cosmo Tales is content to be charming, weird, and genuinely fun. Heck, even "dying" is stress-free due to the magnificent execution of the game's low-pressure (narrative) atmosphere (pun definitely intended). A delightful throwback with plenty of personality. Highly recommended for anyone with a soft spot for retro sci-fi, vibrant space adventures, or family-friendly/easily-accessible flight sims.
Fun game.
