game is well worth a try. has asteroids, geometry wars, vampire survivor with ships feel to it. not too difficult to complete but if you enjoy chasing leaderboards it'll keep you busy trying to maximize your runs rather than just completing them. the dev has been on top of it since the prologue and playtest. give it a try and see ya on the leaderboards.
I came across this game in the new releases section by chance and picked it up on a bit of a whim. The concept sounded decent enough, and honestly, I’m really glad I did… It’s simple by design, but it nails that addictive gameplay loop. There’s a surprising amount to unlock, and it’s the perfect kind of game to play while watching a show on the side, similar to how Vampire Survivors was for me. It’s also really refreshing to see no microtransactions or other nonsense, especially since it would’ve been easy for them to add that stuff in. Big plus. All in all, for £2.79 (grabbed it on sale), I’m more than happy with it.
played this for the first so good if your a competitive person defo recomend
underrated gem
⭐ Avis – Cosmic Carnage (FR)
⭐ Review – Cosmic Carnage (EN)
Cosmic Carnage is a game that feels great to play right from the start. It’s easy to pick up, yet deep enough to stay engaging over time. Considering how cheap it is, the amount of content and fun it offers is honestly impressive. I played the game in preview (video links in the description) and already loved it back then — and the full release only confirmed that feeling. I mainly play it on Steam Deck OLED, and the experience is excellent: smooth gameplay, great controls, and very satisfying overall, whether for short sessions or longer runs. This is absolutely the kind of game I’ll enjoy 100% completing, simply because playing it is genuinely fun. I also want to highlight the developer, who is very active and close to the community. He even offered me a free key, which I declined, because in my opinion this game truly deserves to be bought. I purchased it myself as soon as I received the release email. A fantastic game made with passion, well worth your time and money. Highly recommended.
I'm an old man. As a kid I played all these classic arcade shooter games like asteroids, space invaders, galaxy or phoenix actually in an arcade (and some of them later on my Atari VCS2600). This one gives me childhood vibes but with roguelite stuff and meta progression on top. At bargain price.
Lovely twinstick shmup with roguelike upgrades. The skills level up by adding new mechanics rather than just bigger numbers(for examples, the penetration skill will add bouncing and splitting as it levels up) but are on a fixed upgrade path. The meta upgrades are about unlocking new pilots, ships and skill trees rather than padding numbers, too, to the point where the first pilot is and ship should be able to finish the game It's got room to grow, but it's got interesting ideas and is honestly more than enough fun for the price it's asking currently
This game is simple and addicting. I am pleasantly surprised I wasnt expecting much but Its worth it for the price.
More slow and considered than other games of its type, requiring focus to weave between large numbers of enemies at times. However, it's still possible to lean into fun combinations that make clearing the screen possible.
great space-asteroids-surviors-like. works great on steam deck. so far im having a lot of fun unlocking stuff. id recommend it if you like this genre at all. support good indie games!
