I really wanted to like this game as it hits the genre I enjoy playing but to be honest it's simply not a polished game yet but has rather some sort of early access prototype character. Everything from sounds over music and most importantly the UI/UX feels like an unfinished placeholder or is simply unpolished. On top the highest resolution supported by the game is Full-HD which would be kind of fine for an indy game from 2010 but not 2023. I wouldn't complain if it would be clear that this is an early access title but in the current state it's simply not worth the full price of ~20€ for me.
I don't know - it doesn't feel like a complete game. It needs a lot of polishing regarding UI/UX, the balancing is way off and some bugs prevent from progressing by disallowing to change ships for instance. I like the idea of this type of game, but in this current state you are better of by playing games like Star Valor or Gaya Beyond. And if you want a really good game of this genre without paying a cent, you can play Endless Sky. It should definitely be marked as Earlier Access, because that's the state of this game.
Nice. It should probably be early access, UI could use some improvements, but it's fun so far
Edit; Everything in my previous review was fixed a day or so after the review posting, AMAZING! I'm back in it, GET SOME!
This reads like it should scratch an itch I've had for a long time, but in it's current form I can't recommend it. Calling it beta would be generous, this really should be labeled early access. The UI has numerous bugs and is downright clunky. Things take four keystrokes more than they should. The second tutorial quest appears to be broken (I'm not going to mess with it longer than 10 minutes to figure it out). And that was it, I got out while I was still in the return window.
Really fun so far. Enjoying the space themed exploration/strategy game. Can't wait to get to the bigger ships.
Oh man, I want to love this game, it really looks like it could scratch a specific itch i have for a game. But at the current state of it, it's just not there. I've played for about 20 minutes and died nearly 20 times. When you first start, you are immediately thrown into action that can kill you within seconds flat. Why is there even hostile activity in the very first solar system you jump into? Most games give you a safe place to start just to learn controls and basics. One of the final tutorial missions could be "fight this one simple fighter" sort of thing. But as it is right now, I can barely get started in the game, and not at all without loading saves constantly.
