Copy Editor: A RegEx Puzzle

These little puzzles are repetitive just enough to finally cement regex into my head. This is mindlessly chill, perfect for having to work on a holiday. Need to learn regex? Might as well make it enjoyable.

Cute idea, but does an exceptionally poor job of demonstrating the principles it's trying to teach and frequently leaves out tools that'd make things substantially easier in the name of faux replayability, resulting in a game best played while ignoring its unhelpful "helpful tips" and just looking at a regex command list on a 2nd monitor. Pity!

「与えられたテキストを正規表現で置換して目的のテキストにする」っていう、 システムエンジニアをやってる身としては、ゲームなの？仕事じゃなくて？…みたいなゲームです。 基本的なゲームルールは以上の通りで、 これだけだと "テキストが用意されているだけやん！" となりますが、 ・置換数、文字数や使える文字に縛りのある問題がある ・各問題で、置換数や文字数がカウントされ、それによって評価（星:1～3つ）が変わる という2点がゲームとして成立しているシステムになります。 より少ない置換数・文字数でテキストを生成することで、 その問題の解放の評価が良くなります。 また、昨今のパズルゲーム（例えば、Opus Magnum）らしく、 他プレイヤーの分布が出るため、星3つ取っても、 "もっと少なく！もっと少なく！"と熱くなれる要素があります。 前々から正規表現で遊び散らかすゲームが欲しかったので、 個人的にはドハマりですが、一般的にはどうなんでしょうね…。 べた褒めできない部分としては、 （よく確認しない私も悪いですが）ゲームを閉じるのと間違えてデータリセットしちゃったり、 過去のリザルトの確認がちょっと面倒だったりと、 UIがちょっと微妙だなと感じることがあるところです。 目は瞑れます。

Regex made fun. Well, maybe, not quite, but very entertaining and can play and, genuinely learn something useful.

As a programmer who uses regular expressions at daily basis, I thought it would be easy and fun playing this game, and surely it is. Most tasks are simple while some expects players to have an adequate knowledge of regexps. But if you wish to learn something about regexps, it may not be a good choice though.

Es gibt keine Tutorials oder Einsteiger Zeugs. Genauso wie keine Lautstärke Regelung oder sonstige advanced einstell Möglichkeiten. Es läuft so ab: spiel Start das was ich habe und das, was er wieder haben will. sonnst ist da nicht viel Nützliches. Ich habe erhofft, dass das spiel, mir etwas mit RegEx hilft, weil ich da ein kompletter noob drin bin aber da hilft simples Trial-and-Error mehr als das Game. Sorry, dass ich so eine negative Bewertung abgebe aber, dass musste sein

It's pretty good. Haven't gotten to the complicated stuff yet. I like using regex but have to relearn it every time I need it. Having the target text in front of you offloads some of the brain capacity needed to solve problems with regex, so you can just concentrate on solutions. You can also highlight all the parts your rule is changing, which makes it more fun to optimize.

If you dont know RegEx this isn't a game for you. The teaching aspect of the game is not well made.
