"Cool Kid Cody" isn't free. It's a mobile app. It's the first chapter in a series of pointless and unamusing, low quality LGBTQIA+ friendly point and click adventures. What isn't friendly is the predatory pricing model attached to this mediocre adventure game. Almost all of the content is heavily paygated. The mobile app features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. It's VN heavy, with plenty of clicking through extremely bad high school fanfiction writing. The developers failed to understand the most critical axiom of game development: "Show, don't tell." This isn't really free as you're expected to pay up more money (an eye watering TWENTY TWO UNITED STATES DOLLARS) to unlock content/DLC so you can keep playing. This is some nasty, predatory pricing and PC gamers don't like it. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the mobile app peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This isn't really a "free" game, it's got mobile app tier predatory pricing, which is the kind of thing PC gamers hate. That's just another reason not to bother downloading this "free" mobile app.

Previous review rescinded, I want to add more thoughts now. I don't know if I want to say I've fallen in love with this game because those are some very strong words, but I guess I have. Dear GODS did this game subvert my expectations. I didn't just get what I thought I wanted from this game, I got all of that and more. I went through a CHILLECTRIFYING yet emotional joyride that had me feeling and thinking in ways I never thought possible for myself. I think that's my biggest takeaway after playing this game. It made me introspective but in a fun and endearing way. And maybe it could do the same for you. So play this game, buy ALL the episodes, and play some more...NOW!
This is just such an incredibly cute and genuine game, not even my visual novel/point and click hating self could survive two episodes before warming up to it. All the characters are fun and quirky in their own ways, and they all play perfectly into their even more fun and even more quirky world and story. It's just a very sweet game about classism, family, not letting others determine how you show your true self, and yuri. Lot's of yuri. I'm personally not the biggest fan of the gameplay or music, and the humor was a bit hit or miss for me, but that's just my taste. Where this game really shined was with it's loveable characters, oddly gripping story, and vibrant art. If it sounds interesting, pick up all the episodes on sale. For 20 bucks it's well worth your time. 8.5 boardkissers out of 10.
oyun mükemmel ama 1 kuruşum bile kalmadığı için oynayamıyorum :/

Probably one of my favorite indie visual novels of all time. it starts off as a charming and comedic story but slowly gets itself into some deep and emotional stuff. i highly recommend it if you're fond of the cringey ish humor and the cute artstyle. and also Rhyme is cool
A beautiful game that I absolutely love, going through Season 3 now and loving every moment of it!
I want TO PLAYY but the 4 one is money :(((
Cool kid Cody is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome I played through this game a while ago and it had some of the best storytelling I've seen. Now I'm playing through it again with some friends and they're LOVING IT.
