Conundrum is a first-person puzzle game which takes large inspiration from games like Portal and the Talos Principle. Starting off simple enough, the game takes you through a set of test chambers manipulating buttons, switches, and boxes to get to an exit. It's all standard stuff, until you reach the game's ending 20 minutes in, unlocking a Glitch Visor. Here is where the game becomes something special. Developer Nogam uses everything in the toolkit and more to make the most of the space given. With the help of the Glitch Visor, the player is asked to deconstruct the levels in the first 20 minutes and use the items, world, and design to find various hidden exits. The love of secrets and hidden mysteries are apparent, and each new discovery and hidden passageway is not only crucial to finding the ultimate exit, but enjoyable when you realize the world doubles back frequently on itself. While I love everything introduced, I wish there was more. More mechanics, more room types, and more on the presentation side. There is little to no music and some of the endings blend together narratively because they boil down to one way of escape over another. The voice acting doesn't help this, as I wish they got even a robot voice to deliver lines as opposed to the accent-heavy mess that exists now. Additionally, basically the final puzzle in the game is a joy to gather the clues to solve for, but the actual solution is nonsensical, and I wish had way more direction that compares to how well the rest of the game directs the player. Overall, Conundrum is an impressive effort from this developer and I'd love to see more attempts at breaking the mold and pushing the narrative further.

Jogo bom, porém curto, mesmo tendo outros finais.
