About
Contain is a first-person tactical shooter focused on methodical engagements, realism, and player choice. If you want, you can play the missions offline, solo, or you can progress by forming co-op teams with your friends.
You are part of a special task unit within a secret organization assigned to contain objects of extraterrestrial and supernatural origin. Every mission consists of high-risk operations that require tactical planning and execution. Right gear, positioning and coordinated actions matters more than reflexes.
Our content update in January 2026 brought a huge transformation to Contain. Whether you’re returning to the field as a seasoned operator or stepping in for the first time, you now play a reborn Contain, hence the name Genesis.
With the game code written fully from scratch, Contain:Genesis pushes our operational capabilities beyond the limits. We have areas that have been rebuilt from top to bottom, visually and audibly overhauled, with increased atmospheric intensity. The mission zones you thought you knew are now far more unsettling, each shadow hiding a different threat. The improvements coming with Genesis make every moment more realistic and more tense — from how you hold your weapon to how you take each step.
Weapon Customization Contain features Gunsmith, a detailed weapon modification system. On your weapons, you have full control over:
Barrels, suppressors, optics, and grips
Tactical attachments and accessories
Weapon handling feel and performance
Each part serves a specific purpose and lets you shape your weapon to match your playstyle.
Pistol Customization
With Genesis, pistols have also become customizable.. You can now equip attachments such as suppressors.
Character Customization
Every bullet you carry, every med kit you take, and every grenade you choose shapes the decisions you will make during the mission. Your gear determines the rhythm of the firefight; define how far you can push, when you need to take risks, and when you need to fall back. With Contain: Genesis, our armory has expanded even further with more weapons and new parts to modify them.
You can play Contain solo or form a Fire Team with up to 5 people. Role distribution within the team, synchronized movement, and clear communication play a critical role in completing missions successfully.
There is zero margin for error. Friendly fire, communication breakdowns, or poor positioning can result in the entire team being wiped out.
Choose your team well and practice in the renewed Training Area beforehand.

The earlyer version of the alpha ran way smoother and felt easy to play. Now the graphics are laggy, fps are terrible and the UI ist ver unfriendly. Not recommended until further performance patches.
To be honest, this game is quite boring, like shooting at bots with guns. The anomalies in the game are also quite tedious, uninteresting, and not scary at all. The game system has a lot of bugs, and the optimization is pretty bad. This game has nothing to offer and isn't worth buying. I recommend finding something else to play. Don't expect too much from this game.
Contain: Project Genesis aims for the tactical FPS feel of games like "Escape from Tarkov" and "Arena Breakout", but doesn’t quite land yet. Weapon customization is pleasingly flexible (you can place attachments where you want) but swapping loadouts each time you want to change gun type is tedious, even with the loadout option. Many of the attachments feel like they provide minor stat bumps rather than meaningful choices (usually only adding ergo). The weapon variety is somewhat plentiful (if you like ARs and SMGs) and seem fairly balanced with no obvious “broken” builds. Movement feels a bit stiff/slow, and the scan ability can be overwhelming (sometimes more blinding than helpful). Getting hit also adds heavy visual blur, which makes sense in theory but feels overdone in practice. I found that most of the controls in game got in the way of gameplay rather than enhancing it (scroll wheel to raise or lower gun, changing sights, inspecting weapon, etc.) and could be great QoL aspects if tweaked a little. The majority of the levels follow the "Find Item/s and Extract" objective type where the endings are quite literally a jump-scare with how abruptly they end. Levels 3 and 4 ran pretty rough with consistent frame drops through the entire level; this also occurred on a separate pc using a 4090. Though the final level featuring the “Weeping Angels” style enemies was easily the highlight of the game for me as it stands, providing a large map, unique enemies, and immersive surroundings. It’s clear what the game is aiming for, and it has potential. I see the has game come a ways in the two years since release and I'm interested to see where it goes. Though in it's current state, it’s only worth grabbing on deep discount. Best enjoyed if you and a friend want a couple hours of shooting goons, cyber orbs, and stretchy Monkey D. Luffy-style zombies.
Ну задумка неплохая, но игра мертва.
I bought this for 10 bucks, and for that price, yeah, I enjoyed what I played so far. It's a cool lil scp/stalker-ish tactical game , and the gunplay is pretty solid. That said, I would not have paid $40 for it. I hope there is more content coming, because there is like, 6 missions? Granted, they are each pretty long, and have really cool scripted moments with good combat, but it still needs more. The weapon modding system is also great, but it just kinda gives you everything straight out the gate(I thought this was an extraction shooter initially) and you can't loot bodies or interact with much outside of the anomalies. A player progression system would be cool. Also, a shotgun. Like any shotgun would do. The enemies seem to have them lol
had alot of fun with this game played through all the missions and was well worth what i payed for it please if you need more people to test out any features or more missions me and my crew thoroughly enjoyed it
