Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 29 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Computer Tycoon is a grand strategy and business management hybrid about Computer Evolution and starting your own company in the 70s. Lead the research race until 2034, create the best hardware and operating system, take care of your infrastructure, handle your marketing, lead your team of experts, find video game gems to promote them on your platforms, conquer the global market, and become immortal!
Computer Tycoon differs from other building/tycoon games because it has a "grand strategy game" aspect. You will control your "computer empire" by viewing a world map and managing resources. You won't build a park or railways, and you won't arrange furniture in offices, instead of these you will analyze the market and find ways to be profitable, reinvest in research, and push out your opponents from the business.
Unlike other games, here you will see your opponents' products and their pricing, which will compete with yours on a real, simulated market. Computer Tycoon is more complex than most modern Tycoon games today. This means that the game has a steeper learning curve, but on the Beginner difficulty level (especially by turning off opponents) you can have a Sandbox-like experience as well.

Start your adventure in the 70s as a small business somewhere in the world. Learn more about hardware and software inventions that were the first steps to our current modern world, and get a taste of what is waiting for us in the future. Find the classic video games and help a new culture to be born.

In Computer Tycoon the decisions you make during development really matter. Take advantage of the technology, upgrade and design combinations! Does your product need more computing capacity or should you focus more on features, low price, or prestige? Maybe change to portable computers or develop more easy-to-use Operating Systems? These decisions will have a major impact on the success of your company.

Smartly expand your corporation into multiple countries, and build more offices, factories, laboratories, and other required facilities. Poor countries have cheaper labor, but richer countries will give you more educated engineers.

Having the best product isn't enough. Finding the right partner and managers is as important as a good product. Balance your budget well between development, production, marketing, and expansion.

You can win the game by becoming a monopoly or reaching the technological singularity if you are fast enough - but living through 60 years of computer history is let alone a victory!

Honestly pretty good, I noticed how hard it is but it's easy to get in the hang of. Highly recommend.
Hi there. Computer Tycoon has various options such as campaign historical and Non historical, sandbox, all that, but I am doing a play through using a Scenario option as a Tech spy thief sabotage charasmatic negotiator, with consequences. If you get got there are lawsuits that can ruin you and other neat things happen. I am enjoying it and having fun on difficulty 7 of 10 which is refreshing to have more than easy normal hard.

Challenging, creativity, strategy, & tycoon. Its a fun game, with cool art. Everything is customizable except the pictures of the computers, witch sometimes can be annoying. There is an early beta available when you buy this game, witch adds a ton of features that the store page doesn't explain to you, with alot of game modes. in the main game, you start with a decent amount of money, it can be hard at the start, but if you make a good strategy, you will go through, [ Remember this is a tycoon, so even tho theres a part of creativity, theres competition so you can't go around and making expensive, overpowered computers, becouse then you will go bankrupt. I recommend that you start doing your creative computers at late mid game. Around 1990, when you have a decent amount of profit.] To get acces to the sandbox version you will need to download the beta. That is currently released. Sandbox has no competitors, that is kinda sad, becouse it would be funny to make a 21 centuary computer in 1977 and see how other companies react. Overall: 8/10 great game, things to improve, but now is a good time to buy it.
Like management sims? Like old computer tech? This game gets both right. It's hard at first and has a bit of a learning curve, but the included tutorials will get you to where you need to be. Don't get discouraged if your first game doesn't go your way--that's part of the process. I have dumped more hours than I ever thought I would into this game and it was an excellent purchase. It also supports a great developer who has made this game single-handedly!!
there's a steep learning curve, but this is really interesting...
Sądzę że gra warta uwagi z perspektywy czasu i zaangażowania deweloperów.
I have this game since 2021. Seeing that it is still receiving updates is awesome, great job.

It's okay. I think I learned a few things about computer history, but the economics are kind of dumb. I can produce the best computer and sell it for far cheaper than my competitors. I can expand to be the dominant seller in all the markets, then just wait 20 years for them to go bankrupt. The most interesting part is in the beginning when it's competitive. After that, you can kind of just fast forward to the end. I still don't understand how my competitors stayed in business when reasonably, they shouldn't have been able to sell anything. I had a hacker take like 60 billion i had no hope of repaying right before everyone went bankrupt, so lucky me I guess. That could have been a random game over after dominating for the whole game.
