Commissar Catlov is a top-down shooter where you play as Catlov, a mediator of sorts in the war against Ratovski. You basically go from chapter to chapter fighting enemies who have teamed up with Ratovski, and that's about it. If I'm being honest, I had more fun with this game than I originally thought I would. The movement and shooting are clunky but not to the point of being abhorrent. The developer even put in sections that didn't entirely involve shooting, such as a part of a chapter where you are simply dodging arrows for 30 seconds. It isn't much, but it's something better than some other games of this caliber. But besides all that, this game is definitely not worth any sort of money. This game is just scuffed all around, and while it may be decent for a middle or high school project, it doesn't make the cut as a game someone would purchase and enjoy on Steam. If you happen to get a copy of the game for free, then feel free to try it out, but just know that I don't really recommend giving this game a try. (P.S. Idk why Steam lists this as my playtime, but I spent around 30 minutes playing the entire game.)

Commissar Catlov is a depressing example of all the kinds of things that go wrong when you let anyone publish a "game" on Steam if they want to pony up the $100 entry fee. This is a top down shooter with retro pixel graphics. All the enemies are just sprites. The protagonist is a sprite of a cat. The game is so completely and horrendously bad, that while I am sure no animals were harmed in the creation of the sprite of the cat, I think this still somehow qualifies as animal abuse.
