SO GOOD! The controls are reminiscent of Section Z on NES and the visual style is strongly influenced by Metroid. The game is all the nostalgia goodness you can remember playing games as a kid. The art style is wonderfully colorful and the soundtrack perfectly complements the different areas. The game is SO GOOD! Play it!
A very, very, very well-hidden gem. Seriously.

One of the best hidden gems out there. Wow, this game just feels sooo incredibly good to play! Plus it rewards you playing good with a ranking system at the end of each level. You get boosts for taking no damage and also for doing each room in a specific time or less. It feels a lot like another one of my favorite games of this genre called Straimium Immortaly and I am having a hard time choosing which one is better.
A short and sweet bullet hell with handcrafted encounters, a challenge mdoe and a semirandom mode Art and sound designs is good Especially very fun in 2p coop where I notably really appreciate you respawn on every screen in a safe zone while other bullet heavy games tend to overlook that kind of thing. The game is very short (1h to beat in coop +-) but the difficulty levels are very well crafted and warrant at least one replay as they change bullet patterns drastically. Speaking of bullet patterns, they are surprisingly fair, especially with the addition of a generous but mandatory iframe dash which makes it just right in terms of difficulty for a somewhat casual audience on easy/normal mode, while hard is a valid challenge afterwards.
Un bijou !
I enjoyed my time with it, overall solid gameplay that can require some quick thinking! The cute art and good music are the cherry on top. If you're a fan of arcade style games with some bullet-hell flair, then you'll love this game!
I found that game while scrolling randomly into my library and was really surprised it didn't catch my attention earlier as I'm usually very keen to play anything getting its inspiration from hero core (go play it !) CometStriker DX is an arcade shmup where you can only shoot left/right. It also features a dash that can make you iframe through bullets / obstacles. It's very easy to pick up and play and the levels are finely crafted, one thing I liked was that the space at the entrance of each room was almost always safe, which helps think about your strategy for clearing the room before jumping into action ! It's a very good tool that can really help to learn the levels if you wanna speed through them for a high score later. The base game is not really long (5 levels, pretty short, standard length for a shmup) but there a lot of replayability with higher difficulties, unlockable characters, unlockable game modes and a huge set of achievements ranging from slaying bosses with specific character to finishing the game without getting hurt once on max difficulty so you can really try hard and complete EVERYTHING if you want to. About difficulty, I managed to 1cc hard difficulty on my very first try, it still was pretty tense experience and I barely made it so I guess I would have to train a bit at least to do it in very hard. Not sure I wanna go deep on this game as I wanna go further on my backlog right now but it certainly was a very fun time I would recommend if it looks like your thing !
Very nice start if you want to give a bullet hell type game a try. Easily worth the price with MANY achievements to work towards. Very Hard will give you a nice challenge. The game play is smooth and the music is really good! Plenty of challanges to keep you busy as well. Have not been able to beat the last difficulty myself, but that is just a skill issue. I would absolutely recommend this game. The only thing i wish it had was online play, but it does have local coop reminiscent to old arcade games like Contra.
Buy This Game!! What an underappreciated gem! The retro style and gameplay are impeccable. Controls are tight and have a unique mechanic of slow while shooting/fast while neutral movement system that reminds me of some the best shooters like DoDonPachi and Crimson Clover. The music is perfect, the bosses are interesting, the difficulty is tough, but not punishing. It really hits the right balance of challenge vs. reward that keeps you coming back for one more try. Seriously, do yourself a favor and pick this one up. A truly refreshing 2D side scroller, that takes inspiration from a number of genres and delivers the goods.
