Wertung:
2/10 Atmosphäre 1/10 Story 5/10 Grafik 5/10 Sound 3/10 Spielmechanik 1/10 Balancing 2/10 Spielspass
Fazit:
Pre-Alpha-Schrott. Pretty bad cod like zombie mode. The game was supposed to get a campaign and a multiplayer, but it seems it was abandoned.
Warning: Asset Flip! Combat Force is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unreal Marketplace packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took a bunch of Unreal Marketplace zombie assets and FPS assets and dumped them onto a basic FPS template... almost nothing in this game is the product of the "developers" behind it. It's just a bunch of stolen game assets, and that's not a claim I make lightly. You can see for yourself, the first zombie you run into is Zombie Girl which was really created by Studio New Punch. Stealing other people's game assets and putting your own name on them doesn't make you a game developer, it makes you a plagiariser and a scammer. So the games that result from it have no value or merit as a real games. Despite not being in Steam Early Access (where this arguably belongs), the game is missing features and is apparently incomplete. Due to the lack of meaningful progress from the developer, it's unlikely the game will be completed at all, yet the developers reprehensively have their hand out for money for an incomplete game. This is a good reason for gamers to avoid this. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 8 players, and the worst part is these weren't genuine players, these were the Russian fake review accounts that the developer paid to make the fake reviews. Since the fake reviews are all done, now the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
Warning: Review Manipulation! This game features a number of fake positive reviews sockpuppet accounts owned by the developer. They all appear at exactly the same time, within 24 hours of the game launch on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the reviews all have the same kind of wording and style. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product.
This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name. So, should you buy this asset flip? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Combat Force is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. Remember that if you buy a game from an unethical developer, you're putting your money at risk.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Dead game.. hasn't been any updates since 2019 Unoptimized too
It's not nearly finished, it's not optimized at all and it doesn't seem to be improving any more. It's not worth the 3€.
Played for about 10 minutes and what I saw didn't make me want to play any longer. First off, it's unfinished considering 2/5 of the main menu options are grayed out... zombies and a training map are playable, while multiplayer/sandbox/campaign grayed out. Looking at the discussions development stopped in 2019. There's a time slow down button you can press, which works similar to Killing Floor's zed time. It could've been an interesting mechanic, however it's completely pointless considering you're not rewarded for head shots. The few weapons I saw (pistol, rifle, and shotgun) all felt the same - at least in the damage they output. You can also only carry 1 gun - would've been nice to at least be able to have a primary and keep your pistol. The number of zombies per wave increases very slowly. It leads to a pretty slow game loop since everything costs the same at $1250. Furthering that is the fact a large portion of the doors don't unlock new areas but small side rooms with items. There are several smaller issues too, and it's surprising they weren't caught. For instance, the zombie counter is always off by 1. There were some classic COD Zombies features such as a mystery box, power, and vending machines. Although I didn't get to the point of turning on the power. It's 22 GB since there are probably a ton of unused assets included. It's not optimized in the slightest, and just really not fun.
Frankly put, its not good, BUT its not without upsides. Graphics and animations looks fine, map design is fun, and there is a clear amount of effort. Unfortunately its just not ready, tons of glitches, insane recoil and weird almost aimlock effects, and overall some of the most bullet sponge zombies of any game I have ever played.
10/10 Best game of the century. Better rating than BF 2042. Eagerly awaiting multiplayer update!
