Cologne 3D

Ich kann nicht mehr sagen als NAJA!!

Das Platzieren der Litfaßsäule ist weltklasse. Mehr gibt es nicht. Empfehlenswert.

Cologne 3D is not a game. It's a simple, low poly 3D Non English representation of some parts of historic Cologne in Germany. There are no game loops, interaction is limited to walking around simple "roped off" areas to look at the low poly buildings from afar. This seems to have been launched in the Games section on Steam by mistake, instead of the software section. This is a common mistake made by developers unfamiliar with Steam, or who don't know the difference between things which are games, and things which are not. The quality here is very poor. Low poly art was used, despite the purpose of such a software app to be as rich and detailed as possible. Some of the buildings aren't even textured, and what textures there are, are very low res. The developers dropped the ball on the controls, if you have a HOTAS or any dedicated PC gaming peripheral, the developers decided that it is a console peasant childrens toy gamepad, so you run constantly forward and to the left. Controls are locked and can't be changed, so there's no way to rectify this error from the developers. If this was a game and could be played, this defect would render it unplayable. But we don't have to worry about that, because it's not a game. As usual, in game reviews, I can only recommend games to gamers, and not things which aren't games.

Ich habe Köln noch nie in so einem schönen Licht gesehen. Besonders gefällt mir die Erweiterung der Berliner Mauer, die damals in Kalk vergessen wurde. Ich wünsche mir nur, dass die Vögel, welche konstant auf meiner linker Schulter ein Konzert veranstalten auch mal Pause einlegen würden. Zuletzt muss ich mich noch beschweren. Mir wurde beim Start des Spieles versprochen, eine Werbesäule drehen zu dürfen. Leider habe ich diese selbst nach 10 Sekunden Suche nicht gefunden. Weder auf dem Kölner Hauptplatz, noch in dem nach dem Inhalt meines Wasserkocher benannten Stadtviertels konnte diese wertvolle Säule nicht aufgefunden werden. Wenn ihr dennoch sehen wollt, wie Gebäude bei einer Zeitreise zerdrückt werden, seid ihr herzlich eingeladen. Müsst ihr wissen.
