So good it should have online multiplayer.
genuinely just a nice time with a couple pals it's simple and competitive, so instantly I find it engaging and it doesn't get repetitive too quickly thanks to the stage variety the AI is awful but it's really not a big deal and it comes with some solo challenge stuff if you're into it so if you're looking for a relatively cheap and easy to get into game to play with some friends without them having to buy it and practice it in their spare time to get as good as you or whatever then this is a good game for you cause god knows trying to get a friend to play a fighting game when you're better than them or chess when you're better than them or some kind of arcane skating game when you're better than them or heavens forbid, a racing game when you're better than them isn't very fun for them but this instant fun

Honestly I'm sad, this game is so good that when friends are at my place we don't play anything else anymore. (And even online with Steam Remote Play).
This game is some of the most fun I've had with 8 people. I've played many party games with many groups and this one always gets the most people hyped up and holds everyone's attention the longest. The core design is straightforward, simple and expertly tuned. I cannot recommend it enough. The only drawback is you basically have to have people over locally to play it. You can turn on bots but that gets really old. I don't knock the game for that at all since it's really designed to be played in "big" parties.
ClusterPuck 99, developed and published by PHL Collective, is a loud, chaotic, and unapologetically social arcade sports game that thrives on disorder, physical comedy, and shared laughter. Rather than attempting to simulate hockey or any traditional sport, the game distills the idea of puck-based competition into a fast-moving physics sandbox where momentum, collisions, and interference matter more than finesse. Its design philosophy is clear from the first match: this is a couch multiplayer experience built to create memorable moments, frantic shouting, and unexpected reversals, not a carefully balanced esport or solo-focused challenge. At its core, ClusterPuck 99 is deceptively simple. Players control small, circular characters that slide freely across ice-like arenas, pushing, striking, and deflecting a puck in an attempt to score goals against opposing teams. The controls are immediately intuitive, allowing new players to understand movement and puck interaction within seconds. However, beneath this accessibility lies a surprisingly nuanced physics system. Momentum carries weight, collisions are unpredictable, and even minor miscalculations can send players spinning into hazards or accidentally assisting the opposing team. Mastery comes not from memorizing inputs but from learning how to exploit movement, timing, and spatial chaos in constantly shifting situations. The true magic of ClusterPuck 99 emerges when multiple players share the screen. Supporting up to eight players locally, the game scales beautifully with larger groups, transforming matches into frantic scrums where alliances are temporary and chaos reigns supreme. Goals are often the result of accidents as much as intent, with stray hits, ricochets, and last-second collisions creating dramatic swings in momentum. The game encourages playful aggression, as body-checking opponents is just as important as controlling the puck, and victory often goes to the player or team that embraces the chaos rather than trying to impose strict order on it. Arena design plays a crucial role in keeping matches fresh and unpredictable. With a wide variety of stages featuring unique layouts, obstacles, and environmental hazards, no two matches feel quite the same. Spikes, bumpers, speed boosts, and narrow choke points constantly reshape how players approach scoring and defense. Some arenas favor careful positioning, while others devolve into wild free-for-alls where survival is as important as scoring goals. This diversity ensures that repeated play sessions remain engaging, especially when combined with the natural variability introduced by different group dynamics and playstyles. While the game is clearly designed around multiplayer mayhem, ClusterPuck 99 does include a single-player challenge mode that offers structured objectives and physics-based trials. These challenges serve as a way to learn movement mechanics and understand how the puck reacts under different conditions. However, this mode feels more like a supplement than a central feature. Without the unpredictable behavior of human opponents, the game loses much of its personality, reinforcing the idea that ClusterPuck 99 is fundamentally a social experience rather than a solo one. Visually, the game opts for clarity and readability over detail or realism. The minimalist art style uses bold colors and simple shapes to ensure that players can track the puck, opponents, and hazards even during the most chaotic moments. This clean presentation is essential given how quickly the screen can fill with movement and collisions. The audio design complements this approach with energetic sound effects and musical cues that reinforce the fast pace without overwhelming the senses. Goals feel impactful, collisions feel satisfying, and the overall presentation supports the game’s energetic tone without unnecessary embellishment. Despite its strengths, ClusterPuck 99 has clear limitations tied directly to its design focus. The absence of online multiplayer means that the game shines brightest in living rooms, parties, or local gatherings, but may struggle to find regular use for players without a consistent group of friends nearby. Artificial intelligence opponents can fill slots, but they lack the spontaneity and humor that make human matches so memorable. Additionally, while the core mechanics remain fun, the relatively limited number of modes means long-term engagement depends heavily on social context rather than content depth. Ultimately, ClusterPuck 99 succeeds because it understands exactly what it wants to be. It is not a deep competitive sports simulation, nor is it a long-term progression-driven game. Instead, it is a finely tuned chaos generator, designed to create moments of surprise, laughter, and friendly rivalry in short, energetic bursts. For players who enjoy local multiplayer games, party experiences, and physics-driven antics, ClusterPuck 99 delivers an endlessly entertaining playground where skill and randomness collide in equal measure. In the right setting, it becomes less about winning and more about the shared joy of absolute, puck-fueled pandemonium. Rating: 7/10
broken. Dev won't fix. Dead game.
