Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink

Even for a discounted price, it was not worth it, due to being very short and really not very engaging. It followed the usual format for a HOG (walk between scenes, pick stuff up, do a hidden object scene now and again). Nothing about it was particularly fun. The only reason I may play it again in a couple of years is because it has Spanish translation for the text. (I'm playing in Spanish to help me learn it.)

Very Good and Interesting

Good story line. Fun. Puzzles can be challenging but solvable. Hidden objects are a bit challenging at first but once you get to know the story and its machine parts, you shouldnt have any trouble. Each hidden object scene will get easier for you. There blended in very well. I thought all in all that Clockwork is a nicely balanced story and the skill needed to solve puzzles and hidden object scenes is greatly balanced as well. The price was right too! :) Not too easy and not extremely hard. Great job 5 stars

i play hidden object games regularly. i do not like this one. the story is boring and i think the main villian is some what of a germany ww2 allegory??? hes evil and is doing weird science experiments and capturing the people who question/interfere with his plans? its clunky and weird and even watching the cutscenes doesn't make the story make sense. i have played this game twice and i cannot tell you why the bad guy does what he does or how his army of evil robots and secret earthquake machine tie together. the puzzles are fine but some of them have little to no direction and are not self explanatory enough for it to work. i enjoy the hidden object sequences and they are more challenging which is enjoyable but they dont have another little mini game you can play if you dont want to do the hidden object (majong/pair matching/etc). theres nothing really that set it apart. dark arcana: the carnival has a pet companion too and that game is infinitely more enjoyable. 9 clues 2: the ward has a detective mode where you have to piece together crime scenes. this game has none of that though.

Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink is a blast to the past. 2013 is a whooping 12 years from today's year. It delivered for its time, the mysterious intro is charming. It's definitely one that pulls its players in. I remember playing this before and I was fond of this game. If memory serves me right, this is possibly my third playthrough. I believed that warrants it enough to be good as I played it more than once, but it was quite a task to finish. Perhaps the influence of playing it multiple times made me less susceptible to it. I have already expected the main climax of the story and it certainly didn't impress me anymore as much. But a lot of the areas were familiar, tugging a place in my memory of playing it in the past. Even then, the delivery of the voice acting is impeccable. It was way impressive than the recent games Artifex Mundi released. There is not combination of the items, yet it still feels the game did its best. A total of close to two hours of gameplay was done for the main story, and a little over two hours if side story is included. I conclude this review with a recommend, landing on a [u]7.5/10[/u] rating. It's not disappointing, just very mysterious mixed with steampunk elements into it. If you're into that, you might want to check this hidden gem out.

One of the better HOGs out there. It's quite short -- my playtime is just high because I played in another language for practice. Anyway, the story is pretty good for a HOG, and the puzzles are reasonable. The steampunk visuals are cool. Rather expensive but worth it on sale.

Another great installment from Artifex Mundi!

This is a relatively typical Artifex Mundi HOG, but slightly better than most, I think. Many of the puzzles are a bit on the easy side, so it's a good game for people new to the genre.
