I would not recommend this game in its current state. There are a lot of things that feel out of place, and even the dinosaurs are poorly designed, which is disappointing for a game built around dinosaurs. However, don't forget about the cutscenes. They're absolutely awesome and show that the developers have the potential to make this game incredibly good. But as it stands right now, I wouldn't recommend it.

I haven't finished the game yet. But I have played enough to give a review now. This is a solo experience, I have made my friends hold off on purchasing, at least until Multiplayer isn't such a hassle to deal with. The Good things: - The Ambience, sounds, atmosphere is both amazing and terrifying. Especially when walking through an enclosure, it's always more tense when you can't hear anything. - For me personally, being able to play in first person, makes me feel a bit closer to the action, like I'm seeing through Hudson's eyes instead of behind him. It certainly makes for good reactions during some of the intended jump scares. - The park is huge, and while it feels like a chore to get around, I think it's just the right size to not feel empty. - The tribute for Sam Neill behind Prehistoria Control is beautiful. Respect to you guys for adding that, it was a nice sweet moment. The Neutral: - The amount of dinosaurs that want to kill you is a little overwhelming. I have died to Ankylo's and Triceratops because they wanted to kill me for some reason, yet the Stegosaurus just walks on by and even runs from me? Seems a bit weird, but not a big issue. - I still have the quest to Secure Herbivore Haven/ Grab the Therizone card even though I have the card, and have secured all Herbivore Enclosure at the point in the game I'm at, a chalk this up to a bug, but it's not stopping me progressing so again, it's not a big deal. - Graphics seem kind of a step back from the demo. Although when I loaded up the game on release, the first tunnel was dark, and I felt uneasy. The next day I played to stream it to some friends, Intro included, the same tunnel was now no longer dark, and actually had a blue tint to everything, making it less dark and more of an annoying graphic issue despite me not changing anything. - I feel like the tranquiliser weapons are useless, they don't work quick enough, and whatever you have shot at has already helped itself to a few chunks of your Health. Not a super issue since I just Shotgun everything, but the Tranqs could do with a rework so they are harder to come by or craft, but work better than straight up killing the Dino's. The Bad: - I expected jank, but Clawed has too much of it. Being able to climb vertically up rock walls in enclosures seems kinda weird, and then phasing through those rock walls and having to unstuck to get out or jumping around until it eventually lets you get free is an issue I've had a few of already. - The T-Rex encounters are pretty poor so far, which is really sad but everytime I've encountered them, they just attack me through walls and barriers where I think i'm safe. There is a spot mid-game where you have to outsmart a Rex, and I figured hiding in the containers scattered around the small area was the plan. 7 times I got munched during this part, one time I even managed to get into the other side of a gate, as the gate closed, the rex just stuck it's head through the gate and killed me. Also, whilst in T-Rex Dominion, the Black Rex, just stuck it's head in one of the research bunkers glass viewing domes I happen to be in, got me stuck in the glass, popped out on the side onto the ground and was swiftly eaten, and again after the reload, stuck it's head in the building and just chomped me despite being inside the bunker. - I don't expect hand holding, I don't want it. But I spent too long looking for the Megalodon Lagoon securement lever, and I gave up in the end, all it says is something like " Secure the Megalodon Lagoon by going through the gate." What gate? Is it in the water? Is it in the Aquarium? Where is this gate? I sprinted through the entire aquarium twice, did 3 full circles of the actual giant tank for them all and still nothing. I found the keycard for the Dominion but I'm supposed to find it, why can't I find this gate. Oh, and when I went back to the part before diving, it came up with " You have enter Megalodon Lagoon, now search for the GAte to secure it." HOW. Really frustrating. I'm enjoying the game, I really am, but there are moment where it's frustrating, and I find a save point and stop for the day. Is this a good game? No. Is it a bad game? No. It's settled nicely in the middle where it's a decent 6/10. The park exploration, the ambience, the atmosphere has been done perfectly. You can tell the Jurassic Park inspiration has really carried the game. Unfortunately that's what you're paying for because at times the game is frustrating. I like the game, I really do, I just need the jank and the bugs to be fixed to appreciate it. It's a fun slog, but not a slog I want my friends to join me for. So yes, I do recommend it, but only for a solo experience. If you're after some Multiplayer fun, or a fun 7-8/10 experience, this isn't it right now.
This game is breathtaking. I played singleplayer and although I did encounter a few clipping and audio bugs and the character movement is a bit janky, it is still by far an amazing game. I have only scratched the surface but I am already in love with this game from the enviroment to the dinosaurs. I love the fact that they fall asleep, it is such an amazing detail. As an advid dinosaur lover this game was well worth the wait. I expected there to be bugs as it is a small studio that developed it and what game doesnt have bugs on release. The devs actually care about their game and take all feedback and critisism into consideration. I cant wait to see what else this game has in store. Keep it up flatrock this is an amazing game!!!
Got this game last night, only played co-op so far, and my experience was not great. Had a few issues with lagging and getting stuck on things. Then we was progressing with tasks and it glitched and went back to the livestock task which we did over an hour ago. we thought oh well maybe we do need to go back, we did and nothing changed. we logged out logged back in and our inventory was gone. no guns, nothing. At this point we couldn't defend ourselves against the raptors and decided to call it quits. The game has so much potential, the graphics are great, the scenery was amazing. What we could play when we had no issues was brilliant. i hope there will be a massive fix for these issues soon. Also the person who joins your co-op game their tasks were not updating or marking off, would be great if it did as they are getting nothing from playing.
Whoever decided to add a Grappling Hook should be barred from Game Development. Easily the worst part of an already middling experience. The Map was by far the most enjoyable part. I loved exploring and walking around. Whoever designed that map and the interactions in it did a fantastic job. Everyone else, Meh.
I am going to try and make this as constructive as possible. First, the time I've spent with this (fairly minimal so far), has been alright. Not amazing, but it has been fun to explore the limited amount of game world I have. The idea itself is awesome. Who wouldn't want to play a Jurassic Park style game. But that initial bit of wonder and awe started to give way when multiple problems started to rear there ugly head. First, the game world. When you are trying to tell a story with the environment it ruins the immersion when you start to notice the same copy and pasted assets every where. For instance, there is a maintenance shed near the beginning of the game. An area that by all accounts should be pretty sparse. But there are so many copy and pasted bits of trash (all the same prefab asset), that make no sense to be here. It just litters the ground everywhere and makes little to no sense. And this extends to pretty much everything decorative. Look at one cabin, you've looked at them all with no variation in the layout. And this is all before coming to the problems with gameplay. A prompt comes up in front of you, "E" to interact. Only, you often will never be interacting with what you are looking at. Instead, it could be a random item in the environment. For gunplay, you can't hip fire, you can only fire when looking down the scope. I don't think this would be as big of a problem, if the enemies had any variety in their interaction. They have two modes: Standing around (though it looks like patrolling may have recently be added minimally) and run straight at your character (with little to no animation on attacks). If you add to that, that every single patch that has come out has had a "Fatal Error" message and not allowed you to start the game, you start to get the picture. I appreciate the fact that this is a small team and I applaud the effort. But the worrisome part to me is that they have already announced another open world game, while this game still needs an incredible amount of polish. This should have been a Early Access Title, and the team should re-align and put off announcing other titles until this one is more playable.
Game needs a little polishing but overall, it is a good game. The devs seem motivated and are pushing out patches already. I feel like once they fix a few issues, it could even be great. I've been having a lot of fun.
If you are looking through reviews because you honestly, genuinely want to know if you should get the game, do yourself a favor and don't read a single review with "0.2 hours playtime" because those people didn't even enter the park or get past the tutorial/starting area. Also ignore any review bomb complaining about "no FOV slider" because those people are simply incorrect. (FOV slider is in control settings) Now onto my honest review: It is fun, simple as that. You never know what is behind every corner and the exploration is very enjoyable. Now I do have to critique a few things: the world can be pretty empty at times, there are entire explorable buildings with no loot or any reason to be exploring them. Could use a bit more love and detail if we are able to explore so many corners of the island. Also its very simple assets, such as offices having repeating bookshelves with no extra detail, etc. Also why are there physical ammo boxes around the map that are not lootable. My last critique is that the "hitboxes" on some interactions are not properly aligned. Like you may need to look to the left or right to interact with something in front of you. I am 6 hours in and in the "second" large area of the map/park. Navigation can be tricky but manageable with using park maps. It has an Alien Isolation/Resident Evil style save system, using telephones in set locations around the map. The story is intriguing and I am loving finding all the notes and clues scattered across the map. The dinosaur AI is ..... interesting. Not sure if intended or not but they will aggro to you pretty much any time you are within eyesight. I am having fun. I am not experiencing all these "issues" or bugs or glitches that others are experiencing. So I cannot speak on those issues. I personally have had no game breaking issues or anything causing me to reload or lose progress. Have not tried multiplayer yet tho, will update on those thoughts.
