Bad and janky shooting mechanics that don't belong in an RPG maker engine, heavy handed and pretty braindead story with no subtlety that still somehow ends up being incoherent by the end. AWFUL absolutely terrible ending by the way, it was not worth getting lost in dark areas for 4 hours for this conclusion. Enemy AI is janky and unfair, shooting is stiff and awkward, not enough healing items, if you're expecting a good survival horror game like the original Silent Hill you will be extremely disappointed.
Overall CoE is definitely not a bad game, however there are some spots that I have a few issues with. The story isn't bad, though it is a tad predictable. There are a few things you can pick up on almost instantly if you're paying a bit of attention, and it winds up making the ending feel a tad lackluster. Dialogue is also occasionally repetitive and in one case was downright nonsensical to me. Gameplay is your standard RPG maker experience, but there's a weird delay to everything. Not being able to shoot while reloading is fine, but if you're squished into a corner while a monster is barreling towards you you're gonna wind up taking hits or dying. There's a roughly 1.5 second wait period between getting your shots off, and that makes fighting a grueling experience in a few spots. It also feels like there's a second delay to your movement which isn't too noticeable while exploring, but again becomes an issue when fighting in narrow spaces or being cornered by enemies. While not a deal breaker for me, it was a pain in a few spots. The level design is pretty solid, though I feel some areas could have been trimmed down and more light would have been nice. During around 1/3rd of the game visibility is beyond poor even with your light active, and it can lead to some surprise damage. Enemy pathing can also be weird at times in tight spaces. I had at least 2 moments where I thought I was sure I knew an enemy would come from the direction I was facing only for it to turn the opposite direction, then come back the way I initially thought. The biggest issue I have with the game is an event that essentially punishes you for having explored, which is also necessary to progress through the game from what I can tell. Having a mandatory moment strip you of a bunch of your supplies in an attempt to add stress to an area isn't fun, and it almost made me put the game down. For a game this short it's needlessly frustrating and is the one thing I would 100% change about the game. If I were to give this game a rating out of 10, it would probably be a 7 or 7.5/10. It's not a bad game, and there's solid ideas in play here, but the execution in some areas winds up harming the overall product, Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours if you ask me.

if you wanna play a short horror game made in rpg maker i highly suggest trying this game
“No.”
I cried at the end.
classic game, but fun
Before I played Clandestinity of Elsie, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
