About

One of 2022’s most acclaimed indies, the Game Awards-nominated Citizen Sleeper is a Tabletop-inspired narrative RPG set on Erlin’s Eye, a ruined space station that is home to thousands of people trying to survive on the edges of an interstellar capitalist society.
You are a sleeper, a digitised human consciousness in an artificial body, owned by a corporation that wants you back. Thrust amongst the unfamiliar and colourful inhabitants of the Eye, you need to build friendships, earn your keep, and navigate the factions of this strange metropolis, if you hope to survive to see the next cycle.

Inspired by Tabletop Roleplaying games, Citizen Sleeper uses Dice, Clocks and Drives to create a player-led experience, where you choose your path in a rich and responsive world. Each cycle you use the dice you are dealt to choose what to do with your time. Make or break alliances, uncover truths and escape your hunters. Survive and ultimately thrive, one cycle at a time, and sometimes against the clock!

The station plays host to characters from all walks of life, trying to eke out an existence among the stars. Salvagers, engineers, hackers, bartenders, street-food vendors, each has a history which brought them here. You choose which of them you wish to help, and together you will shape your future.

Eventually, you will learn to use your dice to hack into the station’s cloud to access decades of digital data, uncover new areas and unlock secrets. This is your unique power, and with it you can change your future. Corporate secrets, rogue AIs and troves of lost data await those willing to dive into the depths of the station’s networks.

Essen-Arp: to them you are just property, one more asset in a portfolio that stretches across the stars. You are the product of an abusive system, in a universe where humanity’s expansion is marked by exploitation and extraction. Escape the makers of your decaying body, and chart your own path in a richly imagined, deeply relevant sci-fi world which explores ideas of precarity, personhood and freedom.

Citizen Sleeper uses Dice, Clocks and Drives to create a player-led experience, where you choose your path in a rich and responsive world.

Each cycle you roll your dice. Assign them to vast range of actions available on the station. With every action, choose what, and who, matters to you, shaping the lives of those around you, and ultimately the future of the station.

Clocks track both your actions and the actions of others across the station. From becoming a local at the Overlook Bar to protecting a friend from Yatagan enforcers, clocks allow you to track your own progress and the influence you have on the world around you.

Follow drives not quests, allowing you to pick and choose the stories and activities that matter to you. As you do, you will shape your character's five skills (Engineer, Interface, Endure, Intuit and Engage), unlocking perks and bonuses that reflect and change how you choose to live in this world.

Citizen Sleeper now includes all three post-launch DLC episodes FLUX, REFUGE and PURGE, which expand the game and introduce additional characters and locations to Erlin’s Eye in an exciting new late game storyline.

Reviews
Simply put: If you are reading reviews about Citizen Sleeper, you have enough interest in this masterpiece to thoroughly enjoy it. Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of the graphics. The writing in Citizen Sleeper is so impactful that the graphics transition into a highly detailed world. The characters, the story, the sci-fi vibe all hit right spots. I recommend buying at full price, NOT on sale; support the Jump Over the Age team. Here’s hope that we get more games from them!
I've never played a TTRPG before, so I wasn't sure how I'd like the game but ended up getting hooked on it! The game plays more like a visual novel which I don't mind. I do wish the the hacking, jobs, and drive task could have been more interactive / varied as the dice system becomes less impactful as the the game progresses. In general the game gets less difficult as the cycles pass but that allows you to put more time to complete drives rather than put too much focus on up-keeping your body. I guess that would depend on what kind of play-through you're aiming for. I aimed to be as helpful as possible and my allies helped me in return. I assume if I did the opposite the game would have been more difficult. It was great getting to know all different residents of Erlin's Eye; their backgrounds, how they ended up on the Eye, how they intend to leave the Eye, their dreams, etc. The stories were very dark, nobody really gets a truly happy ending. There was always a feeling of unease whenever I met someone new. Who to trust, who to not trust, who's gonna betray me, or what are their true intentions? That always kept me on the edge till the very end. Already bought the sequel, looking forward to playing it later this year.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's not an RPG, not really; it's more of a visual novel. However, it is an absolutely fantastic visual novel. You can obtain almost every ending in one run, which I did for the most part. Almost all of them (both accepting and rejecting the ending) made me cry. The characters are fantastic, they feel so real, in a world that similarly feels so intensely real. I don't think that you'll be disappointed if you get it.
This is a really good story. A little dark, but less dark than real life, so... yay?
Incredibly heavy narrative-based game, while political on it setting, it's more concerned about telling personal stories. Some might do the impossible for medicine that makes you able to be you. This game explores that thesis thoughtfully well, not something that you see commonly in many games both in narrative and mechanics. You are Sleeper, the ultimate manifestation of the exploitation value system, who for reasons escape to an independent station in the middle of nowhere. A place for the poor, queers, machine, workers, syndicates, friends and enemies, kids and the elder, and every misfit of society. Are machine capable of believing in ghosts? And if so, the death of ego?
Incredibly touching. I cannot recommend this game enough. 100/10
good
this gets sometimes compared to disco elysium. for me it has different enough game mechanics and feel. but the dice mechanics become in the end of the game a bit pointless and disco elysiums story for example is a lot more unique, deep and interesting to me. overall still had a good time
I like it. I feel like it doesn't quite go as hard as I'd prefer, but I also just really enjoy that deep personal angst about being like, in some absolutely scrongled situation, y'know? I feel like having more opportunity for introspect - not forcing a personality, mind, but like, prompts, reiterating on the sensory and day-to-day aspects, well into the late game to kinda kick the player's immersion back awake on some level, that would've been nice especially in contrast to where a lot of the storyline heads later on, asking about how one identifies, if they're gonna lean into or out of that box... I mean it's complicated. The concept is complicated to explore. I kinda wish this was a proper full-on tabletop RPG where you could be a Sleeper, become a Sleeper, interact with Sleepers second-hand, really just a big dang tome talking the ins and outs of being a Sleeper and life out here, for a GM to really push forward in some real cool way, y'know? (yes I know about the delivery bike tabletop they bundled with the sequel, I'm trying to stay nice and compartmentalized, heh. x3) This one just kinda inspires a lot of thoughts and introspect, but only after thinking about what I'd do differently or want to explore more of, rather than out and out based directly on the concept. It's kinda wild that this is what distracts me more than my experiences actually *playing* the 'game' part of it. lol
