TL;DR: Fast-paced FPS platformer with a bold, minimalist aesthetic. Eye-catching style and a pounding breakcore soundtrack drive the action to the edge of sensory overload. Short, sweet, easily replayable to improve your scores. Simple, stylish, saturated. Three words I think when I think of CICADAMATA. It doesn't waste much time when you start up, throwing you into a tutorial that doubles as a trip to your AI-enhanced shotgun, Joyeuse. The movement is fast and responsive, with a zippy dash move, triple jump, and powerful stomp. The shotgun is powerful and satisfying, having a predictable primary fire and a long-range railgun alternate fire. And then it throws you into the gameplay loop: dropping out of a dropship, killing enemies, grabbing cores, and exiting. And it is masterful. (review to be finished later)
