About
Blast through the zombie apocalypse in this top-down action roguelite! Take control of a deadly train, aim your primary weapon, gather resources with drone support, rescue survivors, and upgrade your firepower strategically. Unlock new locomotives, powerful weapons, and terrifying bosses.
Choo Choo Survivor 2 blends horde survival and strategic upgrades in a unique experience inspired by games like Vampire Survivors and Dome Keeper, while carving out its own intense, locomotive-driven gameplay.
Your primary weapon is independent of the locomotive choice, so you can pick the perfect tool to crush or melt the zombie horde! Each locomotive comes with a unique auxiliary system, and you can add more during a run, allowing for a wide variety of powerful and strategic builds.

On each journey, you’ll encounter the optional Relic Keeper boss—defeat it to unlock an extra auxiliary system. Plus, visit the shop to buy an additional auxiliary system, stock up on resources, and hire survivors to strengthen your train!

The environment is fully destructible! Level buildings to reduce zombie spawns and clear your path to victory! Your main resources are gold, steel, and survivors, all crucial for upgrading your train. Gold can be found in crates and buildings like tombs, cabins, supermarkets, and police stations. Steel comes from metal objects such as cars, camper vans, and reinforced structures. Survivors are hidden in safe houses, and their numbers vary with each run, making every playthrough unpredictable and strategic.

Each run offers a fresh experience with procedurally generated tracks. Choose from one of three unique journeys at the start. Go slow and steady, gather resources, upgrade your train, and prepare for escalating waves of zombies. Defeat the boss and reach the journey’s end to claim victory!

Customize your experience with multiple color schemes! Choose your favorite in the Settings menu. Adjust resolution, rebind keys, and 5120×1440 ultra-wide monitors are supported. One handed play is supported through the Accessibility menu.

There are zombies (that somehow got caught in bedsheets ;)! There are crazy weapons! There are choo choo trains! You can kill aforementioned zombies with aforementioned weapons AND/OR aforementioned trains! Oh and you can play with crazy colour palettes (which I did a lot, see that pinned topic in discussion section)
100% in 12.2 h. I recommend getting this one on sale. I can tell they tried to compensate some shortcomings of the first one, for example how quick you finished all the meta progression in the first one, but man this one drags on. It definitely takes a few hours longer here to unlock everything. The issue is...despite there being different weapons and everything, after the first few runs figuring out the game, every run was basically the same and I didn't do anything differently for the majority of my playtime. Most of the gameplay was just putting the weapons on auto rotation after a minute or two of starting a run and adjusting the speed a bit back and forth, even on highest difficulty. Most of the time is spent just looking at your train go, the final boss fight in every run is defending against waves for 6 minutes and then killing the boss. Well, what that actually looked like was just standing still and waiting for the time to go by, maybe driving backwards a little when the boss spawns and that is it. Despite the repetitiveness, if it is on a steeper sale or bundle I can still recommend it. I wish there were neutral reviews though for cases like this.
a nice little game
Great indie train game. Some loading times could use a buff though.
Well they did it again. they made a really cool game based off their OG premise. Loving the new intro to the levels, love the new(ish) gameplay. Just all around did another good job. I even nominated the game.
Fast, fun, and addictive—Choo Choo Survivor 2 is a thrilling ride!
Trains + Guns + Upgrade / Undead = Pure Carnage
Interessantes Konzept. Wird irgendwann etwas öde da keine wirklich neuen Spielmechaniken kommen.
