not worth the time to download or space on disk it takes. if you really want to play chex quest, just go play chex quest 3 on zdoom, it's also free and literally better in every way
non è niente male, ok alcuni diranno che ci saranno dei Problemi però dai è un Bel Remake/Remastered
Not the original experience. Adding a mediocre co-op/versus that doesn't even enable other people to tag along doesn't make up for a heavily processed-like and waste of a potentially interesting remake of a fun classic game.

Any new additions this version has are not nearly enough to replace the much snappier control and feel of the original. Characters are barely different aside from Health Values and how much Health/Armor they gain from pickups, no difficulty select, Medkits/Stimpacks count towards the Item Percentage meaning you'll have to forcibly take damage if you want to 100% levels, and enemy AI feels much dumber. Some of the level sections that were redesigned to work in a fully 3D engine are at least interesting and different, but they are only interesting for a single playthrough; certainly not the 6 runs you'll have to do if you want to play as every character. Truth be told, you're probably better off playing the original Chex Quest either through DOSBox, a DOOM sourceport, or as an downloadable mod via DOOM + DOOM II. Plus you could even play Chex Quests 2&3 that way as well!
old but enjoyable
as much as i love chex quest, tbh be honest, this game is kind of lazy. the new, slightly abridged intro sucks, and i kind of hate the addition of food people, but the slight changes depending on which character you have selected is pretty neato burrito. the humour is pretty okay, too. overall this game is definitely way better than nothing. also, having the hud be an actual rendered thing is actually super cool, even if that does mean it clips through the enviroment sometimes. i always love it when the helmet or mask or whatever is actually a part of the hud. metroid and maybe halo 4 are good examples I think. eitherway, it's always nice to have more chex quest to go off of. p.s. fred looks kind of weird, lol out loud
the classic in HD
I watched many a good Chex be soggified under General Mills leadership at the battle of Spoon-VII, 10/10 would Zorch again.
I mean, not sure what I can say besides the fact it's a port of an -OLD- Doom knockoff, it's not going to reinvent any wheels or win any awards, but for being a free game all you really lose is a few hours for an experience that isn't the worst thing ever made.
Rough but free
Chex Quest HD is an okay remake. It's more for newer audiences to experience the game rather than for old fans, but this game is still pretty good. Personally, I wish I experienced the original from 1996, but all in all, it's a good time-waster. If you are unaware, this is a game about Chex Brand™ Cereal... it's also made in the DOOM engine, so that's pretty cool. The game is around an hour long, so there just isn't enough there for me to write a super in-depth review, but it has a good variety of weapons to choose from. I don't really have much else to say about this game, but it did get me to play "Chex Quest 2 & 3," and Chex Quest 2 is by far my favorite. The levels were honestly better than some "DOOM" levels, and that is insane to admit, but it's true. I definitely recommend playing 2 & 3 after u try Chex Quest HD. You can find them online for absolutely free. Final Score (this is for Chex Quest HD, not 2 & 3) 4.8/10 Game is definitely fun, but I'd say it takes away from the original. I believe that because if Chex Quest 2 was my favorite, then Chex Quest HD could've been a little more faithful to the original.
