This game is like Balatro and Vampire Survivors but CHESS! ....... i LOVE IT so far, BUT ...... i just cant seem to love the LOOK of all the chess pieces ....... i mean ....... some look like di**s .........

Was told to practice chess so i did! Only 26 minutes in and my knowledge has eclipsed theirs 10x. Do you know candice? (discovered attacked) Yes yes, she a solid little roguelite or whatever. Will know more in a few hours, no regrets already for the humor value. You get like 10 games in one, you playing paosho, ping pong, etc (jk) Well, it does feel like it could grant us more true chess insites.... somehow... oh well.

As other reviews state - there is no tactics involved in this game, and really, turn-based combat seems like it was slapped upon a game where it does not belong and doesn't work right, like fitting a square into a round hole - possible, if being blunt enough. Also, as a matter of preference, I don't really like the general "feel" of the game in art and sound direction, but that's minor compared to the gameplay loop

I just bought this on a whim without high expectations and this game is criminally underrated. It's quite original and I like that the gameplay lives somewhere between a realtime / turn based game (turn based with a short timer) so there's some strategy involved with movement but not TOO much. I've only played 3-4 runs so far but the roguelite upgrades gave each of the runs a lot of variety. It's the kind of game that's easy to pick up, play for a few minutes, be really entertaining, and then put down.

A fun quick game to spend some time with, lots of characters to keep runs fresh. It doesn't play much like chess, but it uses chess elements so keep that in mind. A fun, creative take on the genre
