Have you ever considered playing Chess and Tetris simultaneously? Guess what? My strange brain did for years; I don't know why. But I finally took the time to create this game. And that's how chess 'n' blocks was born.
The game is designed to be straightforward. Two players engage in a fast-paced chess match, known as blitz mode. You both have 5 minutes to play all your moves. When it's your turn, a timer decreases until you make your move. If this timer reaches 0, you lose. Simple right?
But that's not all. Once the first move is done, Tetris pieces start falling! And if you lose at Tetris or chess, you lose, too!
But I also wanted to connect both games; how? That's the funny part: if you take a piece at chess, a line spawns at the bottom of your opponent's Tetris, making it harder for them. But what if it's not your turn at chess? Then try to break three lines on your Tetris to add two to your opponent's one! Or make a Tetris by breaking 4 of them and adding three lines this time!
Quite simple, right? Focusing on both games is not easy at all! But it's the spice!

There's no viably populated servers/active player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
The concept here seems novel, fine, even innocent... we've heard about "Chess boxing" where two combatants engage in alternative rounds of chess and then jump into a boxing ring and thump each other. This electronic equivalent keeps the chess, but swaps the pugilism for a realtime PvP Tetris game... okay. And there's the problem. Tetris is a registered trademark. The Tetris game does not belong to this developer, nor do they have permission to use it. Tetris is a wholly owned intellectual property, managed and defended in court by Tetris Holdings LLC. The most recent court victory for them was Tetris Holdings LLC vs Xio Interactive (New Jersey, 2013 according to the docket). Will this be next in court? Let's wait and see. This is a dead PvP game. Why did "Chess 'n' Blocks" fail? Time for a video game autopsy. Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails. Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. There's fierce competition in the PvP game arena... and I'm not referring to players fighting other players. There's thousands of PvP-only games but only a tiny handful of them are successful enough to attract and keep a wide player base. This game failed to compete and didn't get enough people to stay active. Despite being free, it did not have what it takes, it's as simple as that. There is no real single player content here. The developer thought other players could replace actual storytelling and level design. That was a bad bet to make, and yeah, the developer lost. Hard. Without a player base or meaningful solo content (storytelling, narrative, you know, what makes games like GTA famous), the game has nothing to offer. Other players are not a substitute for doing the job of a developer and creating meaningful game content. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Even as a free product, this couldn't find an audience. With a peak of only 5 users, it's clear the Steam community took one look and walked away. They literally couldn't pay people to spend time with this. All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead.

Its a genuinly enjoyable (and friendship breaking) game but i just wish that they add a chess bot so you can play solo because my friends don't wanna play anymore :(
