It's a shame this is delisted because it's so good! The game is really cute and fun. If you like time-management games and dating sims, this is a good time. I wouldn't normally promote these kinds of sites. But, if you want a copy of this game, you are gonna have to get a key from a reseller, it was $20 for me. I wish I had discovered this game sooner to support the actual devs.
Seeing this game delisted brings a great sadness :(

Doing the clearing of the backlog and happened to open this. I didn't expect to play more than 2 hours of it. This game is not well explained, but I think it makes sense pretty quickly. It's a bummer that it's not on Steam anymore, I would totally recommend getting it. The translation, art, and BGM are all really good.

Cherry Tree High Comedy Club is a visual novel where a girl tries to recruit people into her comedy club. There are 6 characters to recruit, with many skills to upgrade, used to interact with them. The game itself isn't that hard, with simple management to be done, although you would probably still require 2 or more playthroughs to get the good ending (all 6 characters recruited). The game is rather short and I definitely had my fun with it.
Good little casual VN/management sim game. I went through the game twice in the same day. Sadly not available to buy on here anymore.
Leave Steam DRM now. Removal of games you never owned will only get worse. Own local files.
Relaxing and mundane game, but nothing you'd miss having never played.
Pros
+ Relaxing + Decent art
Cons
- No overlay - No automatic text - No fullscreen or resolution options Final verdict: ☆☆☆☆☆★★★★★ 5/10 - Average I struggled with deciding if I should recommend this game or not. It fall directly in that little nook of being average enough that I didn't feel strongly one way or another, and would simply give neutral if Steam would allow that option. Ultimately I decided to lean on the negative but I do feel a bit bad about seeing that thumb pointing down. In this game you take the role of Mairu, an energetic girl who wants to form a comedy club at her school. Her plans are immediately complicated by the realization that each new club needs to have the minimum of five members before it can even be established and Mairu only has one member in mind, her roommate Hoemi. However Mairu refuses to give up and sets out to find more people to recruit before the deadline when the club application needs to be left. The story then follows Mairu's attempts to accomplish this as she meets some new people and tries to convince couple old friends that the comedy club would be worth their time. The gameplay consists of the player managing Mairu's daily schedule, trying to balance enough time for each new recruit in order to built up friendship with them. Overall there are six possible recruits you can convince to join Mairu's club, one of which takes a bit of effort to even unlock as an option. In addition to them, there is a handful of side characters who add liveliness to the world but can't be recruited. Overall the characters aren't that deep or complex, each basically embodying a trope or two. It's not necessarily a bad thing as this game doesn't even intend to be deep, but it doesn't help make the game stand out or become anyone's favorite. Each day has three stages – morning, afternoon, evening – and two of those can be spent hanging out with friends. Choosing to hang out with a person during a specific time slot will pass the time forward, but you can change locations freely until you decide who you want to spend time with. Choosing a correct topic to talk about with your friend is important, as it helps build the relationship quicker. The evenings are spent upgrading your skills, doing homework or a part-time job, or simply resting. You may also choose to upgrade your skills or do a job during the day time, if you don't wish to talk to someone. There is a fair bit of figuring out involved to make sure you max out your chances of recruiting someone, since if you fail to bond enough you can lose the game! From time to time there are also timed world events that progressed the plot and help build the characters a bit more, giving you clues as to how to interact with each one. It was quite a bit more enjoyable game than I had expected it to be. It was nice to play an anime style carefree game where your goal wasn't to romance anyone and you could just enjoy the friendships as they were; no lewdness nor drama but the game also lacked quite a bit in the humor department, which is odd considering its title. It was simple and uncomplicated story, a nice one to just relax with. However admittedly despite its relatively short length, I started to get bored with it at certain points. Specially when you're hanging out at school, because getting out of there is unnecessarily time consuming. And if you don't know how to achieve the good ending from early on, then you will likely have some annoying moments because your natural instinct will steer you to play this game “wrong” and thus make reaching the good ending harder. And frankly I don't think this game is worth the time of replaying over and over, it becomes much too tedious for that. On other negative sides, the game lacks Steam overlay support so you will be unable to take screenshots and post them easily. There also is no option to change the resolution nor naturally make the game full screen from the game's own settings, so it runs in a very small window. These are things that you can certainly get around to, but what ended up really annoying me was the lack of autotext – you need to manually advance the text at all times. This last point is the main reason why I decided to not recommend as I personally like to just sit back and read while characters are having conversations. As the game is becoming delisted, these things are unlikely to change.
Who doesn't love a bit of comedy? The story is very cute with a girl trying to revive a comedy club at her high school and the silly shenanigans that ensure as she tries to do it. The mechanics feel well thought out and the music loop is catchy. Definitely giving it my two thumbs up, up, and away! lol
